The Sims 2: Pets (Nintendo DS)
In a nutshell:
The PC and console worlds combine thanks to man’s best friend and a mouse’s greatest enemy. Create, pamper and train your favoured furry companions in the latest The Sims 2 expansion.
The lowdown:
After years of trying to create less complex, mini-game orientated spin-offs it seems EA are now keen to see the PC and console The Sims games converge. This new iteration is an expansion pack on the PC but a full price, stand alone game on the consoles. As the name subtly hints the main addition to the game this time round is a number of four-legged friends, plus fish and birds (although it’s really cats and dogs that get most of the attention). You can also create your own personalised pet via a complex customisation tool that’s just as versatile as the one for humans and on the PC version you can even send your four-legged friend to work!
Most exciting moment:
On the PC this is a perfectly welcome but very narrow expansion. However the full price console version is actually a considerable improvement on the original with an easier-to-use interface, better artificial intelligence and even reduced loading times.
Since you ask:
The next PC expansion pack is called In Season and seems to be roughly analogous to The Sims expansion On Holiday, in that it’ll focus on exterior objects and locations. It’s not yet clear whether there’ll be a console version.
The bottom line:
Finally, The Sims is made to work on consoles!-HARRISON DENT

Customer Review: Monotenous
At first I was really exited to get the game, as I love all the Sims 2 PC games. The game was fun at the start, but after a few days it became really boring. You have to do the same things over and over again, and there is really nothing to do most of the time, just sitting down and waiting. The game soon became really boring and I regret ever buying it. It was definately a bad purchase, and nothing like as good as the Sims 2 PC games. Big dissapointment.
Customer Review: Lame Lame Lame
This has to be the worst game ever. Repetitive, boring, poor graphics. If I could give it zero stars I would. It taints the Brand and reputation of other good Sims games. This has the lowest trade-in value at the high street store ‘Game’. Says it all really.

Customer Review: An adventure game in lawyer’s clothing
If you’re not sure what this game is, I’ll start by clarifying: it is, in effect, an old-school graphical adventure game. If you’re too young to remember those, it basically means your character goes to different locations, you pick stuff up, you converse with people, and you try to interact objects in your inventory with other things (in this case, just people). That doesn’t really do the game justice, though. This really is a thinking man’s game, and the vast majority of the time you can use reason to work out what to do next, rather than the random experimentation (and let’s not forget mouse-sweeping) characteristic of the genre. The story seems more involving for the emphasis on deduction. The game is split into four cases, where the pattern is generally that you spend a while investigating and gathering evidence (in the process working out about half of what happened) and then spend a while in court, unable to go anywhere and trapped in one conversation in which you can “die” (your client gets found guilty) if you make too many wrong guesses, though in some cases you do get to go out and do more investigation. In contrast to the “health bar” that can only diminish in court, while investigating you can’t “die” in that sense (though you can reach zero “life”), and can recover “life” by breaking what the game calls “psyche locks”, which are in effect just the normal get-information-out-of-people routine, only harder (and requiring more objects as evidence). By making a wrong guess with a psyche lock, you lose “life” just as you would in court, but when you finally get someone to reveal their secret, 50% life gets added, so starting the court part with very low chances happens rarely. This is a Japanese game (as quickly becomes clear if it wasn’t already), so you do have to deal with the occasional translation inaccuracy (it’s about 99% correct, and always clear) and rather odd “localisation” which involves the characters declaring that they are in the US, despite the presence of a clearly Japanese village in the game, and a rather bizarre conversation in which a character says they imported a British car (obviously in Japan this was an American car) at considerable expense because it’s basically big, loud, fast, and shiny. Being basically linear, there is a definite end to this game, and it probably will come sooner than you’d like (though that last case is rock hard), but you’re still talking about several hours, normally. Sometimes while playing you do hit the traditional adventure game flaw of “this should work”, where there is an object with a property sufficient to do a task, but you actually have to use something else - in this case, you’d object (and lose life) while thinking, “the testimony DOES contradict the evidence!”. With a limited number of guesses that you can make, this does make the game frustrating at times, and for that I’m popping a star off its rating. Overall, it’s very good fun (I suppose dependant on you being into mysteries, crime shows, or the like), with a few noticeable flaws holding it back. Just try to resist googling for a walkthrough, because it’ll ruin the fun!
Customer Review: Frustratingly good!!
first of all, this is a great game, and i would recommend it to most ds users, as long as you are patient, and are not just into fast action type games. there is a LOT of looking around, and speaking to people. the frustrating part is a bit of both! you cannot get past certain areas without speaking to certain people, or finding certain things. and il admit now that i used a walkthrough just a few times, and even after reading what to do, i knew that without “cheating” i never would have found the evidence i needed! the next annoying part, for me at least, was in court, only sometimes though. same as above, you cannot get past certain parts without giving some evidence, and as im not the sharpest knife in the drawer, this was sometimes challenging, as the most obscure piece of evidence is neede to prove something.(cannot think of any examples right now, but trust me, they are there!) on the up sides though, its a very addicting game, and very entertaining, i was quite happy just reading the script like a story, without actually having to give evidence etc, its just like a very good cartoon on the tv! looks very nice indeed, and the characters are great, some you will love, like little pearls
and some you will hate like von karma (you foolishly foolish fool) overall a fantastic game, sad that it ended really! and im very much looking forward to the next for more frustrating and yet very entertaining gaming.

Customer Review: -> Buy the PC Zoo Tycoon <-
Im a PC Zoo Tycoon addict… I bought this game thinking the grapics are gonna be all good and 3D like the PC Version. WOOOO I was wrong… The game pretty much sucks! The animals are as small as… ermmm… well they are very small… The animals are also fussy, well fussier than the PC Version. Also it doesnt always tell you all that the animal needs. GRRRR BIG DISAPOINTMENT! AHHHHH >=[
Customer Review: A decent conversion of PC classic
Despite what some may say, this is quite a good conversion taking into consideration the limitations of the DS compared to a PC! The graphics will be worse and you can only save/work on one zoo at a time. But the game does make reasonable use of the stylus in the same way as you would use the mouse on the PC. The basic object of the game is the same, i.e. starting with a piece of land you are tasked to build exibits compatable with the various animals available to you. Also provide zoo visitors with all the facilities they require (toilets, resturants, seating, stalls etc). Eventually completing all the requirements of the zoo, you will get the opportunity to either continue with that zoo or start a new scenario. Overall, a good handheld version and worth a look..But please remember it’s a DS not PC game you’re playing.

Customer Review: There’s no need to cry with this guide
Devil May Cry 3 is a superb action game. The combat is truly dynamic with many spectacular moves but the level design is complex with many hard to find items. I must admit I would not have been able to complete the game without the aid of this guide. The book begins with profiles of the main characters and monsters and then moves on to the devil’s arms and the actions associated with them. Guns and items and key items are then listed followed by the six different styles and every move and attack related to each style. The walkthrough is very comprehensive with each mission given a recommended style and choice of weapons. A map is given as are the positions of all hidden items and orbs. All secret missions are detailed with advice on how to complete them. The guide also states the best way to deal with the many bosses. The basics of play are also included. The back of the book has many walkthrough area maps and a foldout section detailing every single special move Dante can use. The back page details all the unlockables. However, there is one blue orb fragment that is not in the guide. In the Subterranean Garden above and to the left of the God of Time Statue is a small passage. A fragment is inside. This guide was published before the release of the Special Edition and does not include the battles with the Jester and Vergil’s special moves with Yamato, Force Edge and Beowulf or his passage through the game. Otherwise for gamers having problems proceeding with this game this guide is highly recommended.
