Bush DVR3006 DVD Recorder
Customer Review: dvd recording for scaredy cats
Well ,I finally took the plunge and bought a dvd recorder to transfer old family video before they disintigrate(and my little 70s pop combo vids. but thats another story.
This machine looks like a twin cd drive but isn`t.
Being a guy , reading the instructions was not an option and we were up and running in minutes.
Stupidly, I didn`t realise that I had to finalise the disc to make it usable in other machines…ok I read the instructions a bit….
Buy with confidence.Good quality, extended play and auto chapter marking make this a breeze.

Customer Review: Samsung DVD R149/XEU
I have had two examples of this recorder. The first one turned itself off at random when viewing a pre-recorded disc. It wouldn’t record on ram disc using the timer. It would not format ram discs but kept coming up with ‘System error is found’, accompanied by a loud buzzing sound, after exactly 10% of the disc had been formatted. The machine locked up after this and had to be unplugged to reset it. Hughes direct sent me a replacement. This had almost exactly the same faults. It didn’t turn off as often as the first one. Their technical dept sent me a firmware update which did nothing except cause less loud buzzing when the formatting error came up after 10%. I shall be contacting Hughes about this shortly. I have to say Hughes have been very easy to deal with and I am sure the matter will shortly be resolved. Generally picture quality was good, better on the first machine I had but still good on both machines. Remote was good and had lots of easy to use features. It is just a pity about the randon switch off and the inability to timer record on ram disc. It will play ram discs made on my Panasonic recorder.

Customer Review: does what it says on the box
Good piece of kit, easy to use and does what it says its suppose to
Customer Review: Good performance for the money.
Was a little but nervous before buying as the technical details were a little bit sparse and the reviews mixed. I am, however, very pleased with it. It does have scart ports (although no cable is supplied) and it does record digital (once you change the setup, the default is analogue hence the complaints from others). It does record to all formats (including dual layer) which is a big plus and the interface is relatively easy to use. The only downside is that the appearance is a bit dated but overall fantastic value for money!!!

Customer Review: Daewoo DR-2100P
Opened the box, connected the cables supplied and the machine done what it was supposed to do. I found it to be very “User Friendly” unlike the previous Philips DVD Recorder I had. Setup was amazingly easy, recording and playback was very good. Only a couple of irritating points,(a) the DVD drawer is very flimsy, could be made substantially stronger, (b) although adequate, some form of illuminated bar would be helpful to allow you to see what progress the disc is making, (c) the push buttons on the remote control a tad on the small size. All in all a good machine at a good price.
Customer Review: Average DVD recorder for average Price
I purchased this product after returning a faulty Lite-On DVD recorder. This one seems good value for money. The only thing that it seems to lack is the ability to record to CDs to create VCDs or Audio CDs. However, I’ve encountered a couple of problems during it’s first month or so. Firstly, sometimes it refuses to format a new DVD RW and you may have to try up to four times to format it. The formatting problem doesn’t seem to be due to the make of disc as it happens with TDK, Memorex, Imation, LiteOn and Maxell discs. The second problem is sometimes on recordings I’ve made with this DVD recorder the audio isn’t quite in sync with the visual, when it is in sync on the orginal source. Also when recording or playing the display on the DVD recorder just says REC or PLAY, it doesn’t indicate the amount recorded or played, you have to call it up on the OSD.
