Customer Review: Good apart from hdmi
This recorder was fine until I decided to use hdmi. Once I had bought the hdmi cale (not supplied) a few days after using/buying this product I noticed a huge problem. Syncing was well out between lips and sound. This only occurs when using the hdmi cable, which kind of defeats the purpose of paying the premium for having an hdmi connection. It was so bad it’s like watching a badly dubbed Chinese Karate film from the 80’s. Using the composite was fine, no sync problems whatsoever.

In general it was a decent recorder (I returned mine and bought a different brand) let down badly by the hdmi problem. Like I say it’s fine if you dont use this, but you are paying a premium for the advertised hdmi socket, and why bother paying this if you dont intend to use it?

My advice is to buy a different product. A firmware update id not fix the issue.

Customer Review: Effecient and Simple
I recently purchased this DVD Recorder as a second to an existing more expensive JVC model. The Samsung was easy to setup straight from the box and within minutes I had all the TV channels and my CCTV system linked in and working. Recording to HDD is easy although the system does not support an OverWrite feature on repeat (Daily/Weekly) recordings which is a shame. Navigation around titles is easy once you have found the ANYKEY (seriously!) and the copy to DVD is both quick and easy to operate. Editing facilities are basic but again easy to use and playback quality is good. If you need a good value for money machine with easy to use basic features or a second machine for basic duties look no further than the Samsung.

Customer Review: Suspect Quality Issues
I have now had 2 of these. The first one failed to accept any pre-recorded discs and was tempremental. Amazon replaced it straight away but the replacement started skiping and locking up when replaying HDD recordings and refused to copy to discs. Amazon refunded in full. We are now probably going to get the more modern RDRHXD870B and give that a go. The HX725 manual is huge and not too good, but if you’re reasonably competent you should be OK…
Customer Review: Excellent machine
I’ve had it for less than 10 days but so far I’m delighted. Getting around the handbook took a couple of days. It’s very confusing but everything concerning the DVD recorder operation is there. Hooking up with a cable set top box with two SCART connectors (Sky, Virgin) was not explicit in the handbook. Most of my problems were how ever solved once I browsed the GuidePlus website at http://www.europe.guideplus.com/. I don’t have much time to continue this review but if you’re really cracking your head send me an email to gabrielmoren@gmail.com, I’ll be happy to help.

Customer Review: Best gadget so far
This is by far the best gadget I have bought so far. Was looking for a means of sending mp3 and avi direct from my computer to my tv/amp via wireless in a different room. The house I am in has very thick walls and I was concerned however, I have a very good signal and getting good quality avi files and mp3 direct to tv. No flickering and very easy to install. Recommend this item.
