Customer Review: NTSC Compatible?
I just bought this and it seems pretty good, but although I followed the multiregion instructions helpfully provided here by M Crouch, it still doesn’t seem to be fully NTSC-compatible - so it does play region 1 DVDs, but with flickering lines across the image. Is there another code that can deal with this? I’d be grateful for advice if anyone can help!
Customer Review: It’s a dream to use
I had an initial problem trying to make it region free but once I had sorted that out I was off! It records really easily, converts hard disc recordings to disc at the press of a button & allowed me to convert all my videos to DVD with ease. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Customer Review: You Get What You Pay For
Initially this was a good buy. Yes the blue light was annoying, but it worked, was easy to record to HDD and then from HDD to DVD. However I started getting problems with the sound, it took a while to come on when it booted up. Then after 10 months it has now failed completely. Also the remote control burnt out and I couldnt find a replacement for it. Basically it served me well for a number of months, but I wouldn’t say it is A1. I bought a Daewoo dvd player a few years ago from Amazon and that was fine. Therefore I have just ditched this and ordered a Daewoo DHR 8100P and so far so good. I believe the fan is fairly noisy, but when you have the TV on you dont notice it. If you put it in standby mode then you dont hear it either. Therefore for an extra ?60 I would recommend the Daewoo.
Customer Review: Spend more if you can
I had to return my unit as it caused considerable interference on my TV screen. I also found the picture quality to be poor and the remote control very awkward to use, even with the few features the unit has. You get what you pay for and I would recommend you spend an extra 100 quid and go for something like the Panasonic 75 like I did.

Customer Review: dvd recording for scaredy cats
Well ,I finally took the plunge and bought a dvd recorder to transfer old family video before they disintigrate(and my little 70s pop combo vids. but thats another story. This machine looks like a twin cd drive but isn`t. Being a guy , reading the instructions was not an option and we were up and running in minutes. Stupidly, I didn`t realise that I had to finalise the disc to make it usable in other machines…ok I read the instructions a bit…. Buy with confidence.Good quality, extended play and auto chapter marking make this a breeze.
