AUGUST 10.2″ Digital Freeview and Analogue TV with Sharp 16:9 TFT LCD Widescreen

AUGUST 10.2″ Digital Freeview and Analogue TV with Sharp 16:9 TFT LCD Widescreen
August DA102A is high quality digital and analogue TV designed for you to watch Freeview TV where the signal is strong (a rooftop aerial should be used in some regions) and meanwhile guarantee to receive traditional analogue channels everywhere. It should be an ideal TV for Kitchen and bedrooms. With an optional external battery box (supplied separately with 10×2500mAh rechargeable AA batteries at ?22.49), you can watch TV while boating, camping, at beach or in your garden. It can transfer Freeview TV to a larger screen TV as a set-top box, display pictures as a digital photo frame and also be used as a high quality monitor for a video player and game console.
Please note that there may be difficulty to receive Freeview TV signal by the included portable antenna in some areas where the signal is not sufficiently strong at present. This is due to that the Freeview service (www.freeview.co.uk) in the UK is yet full power broadcasting to support portable TV antenna at present. The reception will be improving along with the progress of Digital Switchover Program (http://www.digitaltelevision.gov.uk). A signal amplifier or booster may improve reception capability in regions where the signal is marginally strong. (Please note that reception capability may also be affected by various factors such as proximity to Freeview TV/digital radio transmitters, tall building structures, thick walls, ceilings and etc.). A rooftop TV aerial may be required to watch Freeview channels in regions where the signal is insufficient for a portable antenna.

Customer Review: great picture if you can find it
at one hundred pound i thought i was buying a quality piece of kit how wrong i was yes its true the picture quality is top notch unfortunally most of the time you dont have a picture just a message saying no signal even if you stick the aerial outside the window it still has trouble finding the signal bottom line dont buy this unless you have more money then sense total rubbish
Customer Review: tiny TV perfection…
I do find it strange that I can be within a mile of Gatwick Airport (fairly built up area) and only get a 2% signal (which is still enough for a perfect picture anyway on this device), then head off to the New Forest and get a 40% signal when I’m apparently in the middle of nowhere! My experience with portable digital TV is you either get a perfect picture or no picture at all. Not sure that this particular brand is specific to signal problems of that nature though, mine has been perfect so far, as have some friends who also own one. Either way, this little TV has fared extremely well for me and not having had problems with lack of signal, can’t knock any stars off a perfect score. The picture is pretty much perfect (even easily watchable outside during sunny days), news tickers can also be read clearly and believe it or not, you can see the ball when watching golf! (Not a golf fan btw, just pointing out the quality. A final worthwhile example is the kids have been able to watch CITV/Cbeebies etc in the car on the way back from school with no loss of picture at all! (A trip of about 8 miles). The sound is loud enough despite the tiny built in speaker, it fits in my shirt pocket and weighs about the same as my mobile phone. Battery at full volume lasts me about 3 hours, charges in less than 1 hour. 40+ TV channels and digital radio in a unit slightly larger than a pack of cards: I for one am impressed. Just as importantly, my mates are too:-) I can’t knock its performance in and around Surrey and Hampshire though I’d assume there are places it won’t work, (just as with handheld analogue TV) I just haven’t found any yet. A worthy 5 stars.

Customer Review: i love my new tv!!!!
After 3-4 weeks of surfin the net, checking out loads of web pages and online reviews and much deliberation(mostly with myself!) i finally bought what has quickly turned into my fave item. This tv is amazing, the picture and sound quality really is fantastic and its just the right size to look as if it belongs in your front room(unlike some massive sets that look like you’ve just been robbin NASA!)the hd capability is really impressive too although i think the v.expensive HDMI leads from Monster might have somethin to do with it as a friend has same tv but is using scart an he says mine looks miles better. Was also looking to purchase a surround sound/home cinema sort of thing but am more than happy with just the tv sound capability,no hums or distorts until you get right up to near full volume which is ace as about a quarter is sufficient to let my nieghbours know what im watching! On friday just gone although i was over the moon with my new toy i still had to convince the mrs that it wasnt just an expensive tv,luckily i picked up Stardust and some micro popcorn on the way home-result one very happy, very convinced other half! All in all this tv is absolutely tip top an i would definitly recommend it if your in the market for a new big screen. PS its only ?679 in comet!
Customer Review: Good Picture and the right size for my flat
Given a choice, and the money, I’d go for a really big TV but I live in a flat so I went for this and I’m very pleased. The picture quality is very good with HD, SD and Freeview. You can’t escape compression artifacts entirely but that’s the signal, not the TV itself. The sound is more than adequate, with decent bass, until I choose a surround sound system to go with it. Find one in a shop and take a look, but I feel my money was well spent and that it should be on your HD TV shortlist.
