Customer Review: Attention sports fans!
I’ve had this TV for about a month now and I have to say it’s very impressive. It may be one of the pricier 26″ LCD’s but it’s well worth the extra expense (it is getting cheaper though - the price has actually come down since I bought mine). As other reviewers have suggested, the real selling point for this TV is the picture quality from standard inputs. I watch a lot of sport and this TV handles it exceptionally well. The 100Hz `Motion Picture Pro’ system definitely makes a difference and there is none of the motion blur I experienced with the Samsung LCD I tried out about 18 months ago. I don’t have Sky Sports HD but the picture quality is easily as good, if not better than my old Panasonic CRT. The picture from the built-in Freeview is extremely clear and set-up was a piece of cake - basically you just plug it in and it automatically searches for and stores all the available channels. I also have my cable box connected via scart, a DVD recorder via component cables and an upscaling DVD player connected via HDMI. The picture through all inputs is sharp and clear, the colours are rich and vibrant, and the sound is also very impressive. The picture quality from the upscaling DVD player, in particular, is exceptional. I don’t own any HD equipment at present but if the performance I’m getting from my current set-up is anything to go by I’m sure this set will deliver stunning results. I did a lot of research on the net before buying this TV and I couldn’t find anything less than a 5-star review everywhere I looked. This really is the best 26″ LCD on the market so, unless you’re after a ridiculously oversized LCD which will completely dominate your living room (and probably have an inferior standard definition picture), look no further. Highly recommended.
Customer Review: Superb Picture (and from standard inputs too)
This LCD is really impressive. Bought as a normal TV replacement but with my PC and future HD in mind. After spending several lunchtimes looking through reviews, it came down to this or the Samsung LE26R87BDX. I popped out to the nearest electrical shop to check them out. Both were perfect for HD, but where the Panasonic really shines is standard input. The 100Hz technology (in the LXD models - not the LMD ones), improves the picture dramatically by inserting an additional frame between each normal one, calculated to reduce blur and digital artefacts. The number of different inputs is massive. It has both a Digital and Analogue tuner. Set up is a breeze. Basically the best 26″ LCD available. One thing to remember though, when buying TVs, is the distance you are supposed to sit away from the screen. It should be a minimum of 3x the screen size. So for a 26″ you should be at least 6.5 feet away. I was going to buy the 32″ until I worked out to watch it I would need to sit outside my bedroom window

Customer Review: Primitive EPG
Well, one of the better LCD screens (with nice sound), but still well short of CRT picture quality. What really bugs me, though, is the truly awful Electronic Programme Guide (common to all Bravias?), which is just a grid of times. No option to limit the listing to “favourites” (or even “TV only” - you have to wade through reams of radio channels), no option to get information on individual programmes, and if a programme is less than about ten minutes long you can’t even see its full name from the EPG. Oh, and when you select on-screen information for current programmes, this completely blocks out the top half of the picture; was ANY thought given to this? I invariably end up picking up the signal through my Humax PVR, rather than the Sony built-in decoder; the picture is slightly degraded, but the interface is far better.
Customer Review: Know this befor you buy Sony
I brought a Sony 32″ LCD TV. After 6 weeks the left speaker started making a very high pitch buzzing noise while watching movies either through Sky or while watching DVD’s. I called the Sony centre and they gave me the number of a repair centre. They came to my house confirmed there was a problem with the TV (which they heard coming from the speaker directly) and it would need to be taken away for repair. For whatever reason the problem seemed to have sorted itself out while in transit (maybe a loose connection jumped into place). I was informed that because they couldn’t replicate the problem to fix it the 1 year warranty Sony give electrical products would not cover the TV being taken away (believe me if there really was no problem it wouldn’t have been taken away as I tried everything advised on the Sony web sight before calling). I have subsequently had to pay out ?47.70 for my apparently perfect condition TV to be taken away for 5 weeks and nothing to be done to fix the problem. I’m not saying all Sony TV’s are of bad quality but I would be very weary of buying one because if something does go wrong you could be the one paying the cost after a couple of weeks. I researched on line before buying and if I had known or read anything like this I would have brought another brand as there are plenty to choose from.

Customer Review: Your one year warranty from any big brand is as good as a chocolate fire guard
all big brand products are built cheap these days. hence amazon price is so good. a lot of you have commented on the cust service from samsung you are lucky it is not sony they are worse you buy new goes wrong you get old. the TV in question is fine for games consoles and is one of the best on the market. it useless at every thing else (compared with other tvs in is’t class) did you know 30% of all big tv faults are not covered by your standard guarantee no matter how long it is. the panasonic free 5 year guarantee from ETS is shocking! it is not fair that we have to pay to get a descent guaranteed but we do want things cheaper and its is cheaper to buy a good guarantee from the retailer than to have a well made product. looking into the high street and internet guarantees the best (based on speed of service ease of use and amount of cover) surprisingly was currys! 2 day call out 21 day replacement and much more like you can get on a tv you got from amazon any time in the first year plus they offer a monthly way of paying it!
Customer Review: NEVER BUYING SAMSUNG AGAIN !
I can not get this repaired under warranty, and they ADMIT I have the warranty! I have spent hours on the phone, taken two days off work waiting for a service call that never comes. They say there is NO SERVICE CENTER IN SAN DIEGO CALIFORNIA!!! I have in home warranty service and they say that in the huge metropolitan area of San Diego, they have no one that repairs the TV. I can not believe the horrible service… horrible.. If anyone from SAMSUNG that can fix this problem wants to try.. my service ticket number is: 4001573774
