Belkin TuneFM for iPod - Digital player FM transmitter / charger for car - black

FreeLogix - White iPod Cassette Adaptor - for iPod & MP3 Players Customer Review: Works reasonably good
The sound quality is fairly good with the ipod nano that i have. sometimes it does not work well and I just eject it and insert again or just press it a little bit inside the player to make better contact with the head and it works fine. ?5.01 is not bad price for it.

Belkin TuneFM for iPod - Digital player FM transmitter / charger for car - black
TUNEFM FOR IPOD SAVE 20% IN

Customer Review: Design flaws let it down
While the set up is simple and sound quality acceptable (although certainly NOT fm quality), the poor connection to the ipod falls out regularly, due to normal motion vibration, resulting in loss of signal and the requirement to reinstall. Could have been good, but instead is frustratingly annoying.

Customer Review: OK but design needs to be better
Whilst the signal strength is quite reasonable and the ability to charge with the included cigarette lighter adapter is useful in my Ipod Classic the connection is not very good meaning after a time it works loose and drops the signal.

Belkin iPod Nano 3G Silicone Sleeve - With Armband - Black

Apple iPod Dock Connector to USB 2.0 - Digital player data cable - Hi-Speed USB - 4 PIN USB Type A (M) - Apple Dock connector With the iPod Dock Connector, rapidly transfer all your favourite tracks to your iPod, iPod mini and recharge it very easily. The cable can also be used to connect to an A/C adaptor while away from home. The iPod Dock Connector can use both USB 1.1 and 2.0. Important: USB 2.0 requires Mac OS X v. 10.3.4 or later.
Customer Review: You may not get what you think
I ordered one of these cables which was described as being made by Apple, (indeed the photo is of a genuine Apple, iPod cable). When it came it was not a genuine Apple cable. I kept it because it works just as well as an Apple cable, but should have been described as such. I note however that even though I came back to this page by clicking on the order I made from my profile that it is now a different seller (was Zoodex when I ordered).

It is also worth noting to those new to iPods, that it is not worth buying if you want this cable to use with a second computer (say an office one) as unlike any other MP3 player the iPod will only work with one computer at a time. When I got this cable and connect my iPod Nano to my office PC, it told me it could not sync with this computer, unless I opted to erase its contents and start again! So really only worth buying if you have lost or broken the cable that came with your iPod.

Power Traveller Power Monkey - Universal Charger for all Mobile, PDA & iPod

iPod - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Home-Apple iPod Settlement

Rumor: New iPhone to Sport Case Redesign || The iPod Observer …

Power Traveller Power Monkey - Universal Charger for all Mobile, PDA & iPod
(Power Traveller)Powermonkey Emergency Charger ……because life doesn’t stop

Customer Review: Really, really good
I work on submarines and so, although we do have some 3 pin sockets, it is very hard to charge ipods etc when i’m away and the sockets are in almost constant use. I take the power monkey (i actually have 2) and from them i am able to charge my ipod, my ipaq 5550 and my nokia (for when we get alogside). It’s simply excellent, you require relatively little time on the socket and one charge of the monkey seems to keep all my other bits going for ages. It holds its charge well and is really neat and compact to store (as space is obviously at a premium).

There are several little connectors which come as standard but you only take what you need, I had to buy one for my ipaq which cost ?2.50 so little money for the high use i get. It comes with a set of international plug adaptors so you can charge the monkey just about anywhere you happen to pop up.

All in all i would argue that i put the monkey through some pretty hostile use and expect a lot from it and to be fair it delivers.

I would recommend it to anyone and a lot of my friends have started catching on now and are using them too.

Just a really good, practical, no nonsense piece of kit which does exactly what it says it does!

Customer Review: Deserves higher profile
For those like me, who are a bit of a ‘gadget man’ this piece of kit is the best thing I’ve bought in ages! Every time I go away I used to have to take loads of different chargers which was a complete pain. This solves all the problems. Recently went on holiday and it charged my IPOD Nano, PSP, Motorola phone (and the wife’s Nokia). Also powered my Sony Camera. In the pack itself there are loads of attachments - although check website first as some you may need to buy.

Has plenty of power and therefore you don’t need to keep charging the monkey itself.

If you want to save carrying all your chargers around this is a godsend - even if you only had say a PSP I would still buy. The monkey itself is extremely compact and easily portable.

Great buy!!!

GZ- Travel Charger for iPod Nano and U2 (UK version)

Klipsch iGroove iPod Speaker System “Silver” Designed to leave no room unrocked, the new Klipsch iGroove is a convenient all-in-one digital music system that delivers audiophile quality sound everywhere you need it.
Customer Review: Klipsch iGroove iPod Speaker System (silver or black)
I’d been searching for ages for an iPod speaker dock system that would rival and maybe even replace my old separates hi-fi system that had started to show its age. (I work in the film industry and used to run a recording studio so good sound is very important to me). I was pretty thorough in my research, home-tested two different units, became a pain to many a shop assistant and also poured over reviews on the net researching which units to test. I finally bought the Klipsch iGroove iPod Speaker System from Amazon and am very happy with it indeed. In fact, I think it is the best sounding iPod speaker dock that I found to date and recommend it most highly.

Speaker docks have two design limitiations:
1) The size of the dock tends to limit the bass response.
2) The way many docks connect to the iPod is via a male socket that plugs into the base of the iPod. This socket is often hard-wired to the pcb of the dock system, is subject to stress when the iPod is plugged in or unplugged and therefore can fail after light use.

The iGroove has a bass port at the back of the unit which is very effective. Additionally, the iPod fits snugly into the cradle on the unit, with a neat slider arrangement embedded into this cradle being adjusted up or down depending on which iPod you fit. (I use this unit with a 5g Video iPod and a 4g 40 Gig iPod just fine). The actual male connector is fixed firm and has no play to it. By adjusting the slider to the correct hight, you can drop the iPod into the unit and take it out again without causing any stress at all to the plug. Also, if you adjust the slider correctly, the iPod cannot move at all when connected, thereby limiting the potential for any stress to the connector.

Untis I tested included the following:
Monitor Audio i-deck Speaker Dock for iPod (I actually bought one of these and although it sounded great, I returned it after a couple of months as the connector failed - a common fault according to Newsgroups)
JBL Onstage II - iPod Speaker System - (very dissappointing sound and really lacked in bass)
JBL Radial - High Performace iPod Speaker System - (although more powerful, still not as impressive as I’d hoped)

Smaller, cheaper units sounded smaller and cheaper! I also read some pretty worrying comments from users of iRythhm regarding failure of the connector…

In summary:-

Pros:
Great sound
Small size
Good price
Excellent build quality

Cons:
Remote is a bit fussy - have to point it directly to the unit as it is infra-red (the Monitor Audio iDock used an RF remote which was much better).
Customer Review: Klipsch iGroove
Very pleased with it, sound is truly amazing for such a small unit, great bass (much better than the Bose, I think, and cheaper too) and very little distortion at high volume. It’s very close to the Apple hi-fi for sound quality but is much smaller and the ipod sits securely in front, not balanced on top (significant risk of damage in a house with 2 small kids rushing about). The ability to use other MP3 players or laptops with it was also a big plus. The only niggle is that the remote is tiny and easy to lose, so a place to store it in or on the unit would have been helpful.

iRhythm A461 - iPod Portable Docking Speaker - Black
Portable, yet another stunning product delivering rich sound - the new A460/461 series from the makers of well known Cyber-Acoustics - iRhythms.. With a total system power of 6 watts, (3 watts each), using 2 Neodymium Micro Drivers, it has got the power to fill a room with quality sound whilst maintaining it’s portability for travel. Not forgetting, that it can charge your ipod and sync whilst listening to your favourite music. What more..?? It can run off the batteries on move! (Batteries not included) and comes with almost 7 inserts for various ipod models.

Customer Review: Good value&good sound - shame about the annoying plug.
I have just recently bought these speakers for myself and i am pleased with the sound, price and quality of them. There is only one thing that bothers me about them, the plug makes a buzzing sound when you switch it on. It doesn’t effect the sound when the speakers are playing music, but when they are just on to charge the ipod, the sound is really irritating. I’m not sure if it is a fault with my speakers or if it happens with every single set. It would be interesting to hear if other sets have the same problem.

Customer Review: Sounds good, but power and dock connections are weakest link
Sound is great! portability no problem, but I had a problem with the power pack supplied. The power lead has a continental European two-prong plug with a slide-on UK adapter. When I first plugged the unit in, nothing happened. By elimination I worked out that the UK adapter was faulty. I could not be bothered to return the whole unit to Amazon, so I replaced the adapter and the unit’s fine now. Note that the cheaper model ( I paid ?31.99) does not come with a remote control. Also, the ipod nano needs to put into the dock rather carefully, holding the unit in one hand : if you just try to push it in from above, it’s fiddly and can’t be done without risking damage to the ipod. That having been said, I’m very happy with this purchase.

Belkin iPod Classic Leather Sleeve - Black

Xtrememac MicroMemo for iPod with Video - White MicroMemo Digital Voice Recorder for iPod w/video - White - EU
Customer Review: Turn your iPod into a portable digital sound recorder
I’d give this 5 stars if it wasn’t for the disappointing perforance of Xtremamacs own microphone.

The real selling point of this gadget is that it turns your iPod into a portable digital sound recorder. It has a 3.5mm socket for stereo line-input and 2 selectable sensitivities : ‘mic’ and ‘line’. It makes sound recordings in ‘wav’ format, making them readily exportable to just about any sound application on PC or Mac.

The first thing I did with this gadget was to make a test recording with the supplied mono microphone, using the ‘mic’ (sensitive) setting. The recording level was disappointingly quiet.

Next I tried a Sony powered microphone designed for use with minidisc recorders. This resulted in a very good stereo recording, but I had to use the ‘mic’ setting (a recording made with the recommended ‘line’ setting was barely audible).

The Xtrememac’s built-in speaker is quiet but good quality. In practise its main purpose is to confirm that you have in fact successfully made a recording !

In summary, this item as supplied is fine for recoring voice memos, with the supplied microphone close to the person being recorded. I don’t think the microphone supplied would be ideal for recording in a lecture theatre or for recording a conversation between a number of people.

However, with a good powered microphone it really comes into its own. There is also the possibility of connecting the line input to another external source such as a mixing desk, tuner output etc.

I will be using it to make rough demos of my songs to upload onto Myspace etc. Recordings with a powered mike are almost good enough for CD quality, but may need a little cleaning up to remove a subtle level of hiss that will be detectable to the discerning lestener.

ATMT iZone FM101 Wireless FM Transmitter with Built-in USB Hub Charger for iPod or any MP3/MP4 Player

Apple?s weak growth sister: The iPod? | Between the Lines | ZDNet.com

ATMT iZone FM101 Wireless FM Transmitter with Built-in USB Hub Charger for iPod or any MP3/MP4 Player
Customer Review: It works - Just About
Having followed the advice of the previous reviewer, I promptly fitted this device with the requisite AAA batteries, and thought to enjoy my ipod shuffle on my radio.

At first, it seemed fine. I set the frequency to 101.1 fm, my radio found it automatically, and the music quality seemed fine, if a little distorted. However, once I began to drive for more than 2 minutes, the signal seemed to become intermitant at best, constantly dropping out and becoming unbearable.

Because there is no means of attaching the device to any place in the car, you then start to move it around in the desperate, but futile hope, that the signal will improve. This is dangerous practice of course. As is fumbling about tryng to change the track, I would recommend an mp3 player which has the capacity for ‘playlists’.

So, on finishing my journey, I experimented with a variety of frequencies, and guess what, no improvement. So frustrated was I, that I have reverted to C.Ds. That is certainly the way forward, burn itunes to a compact disc, rather than wasting time and money on this.

Like I said in the title, it does work, but I almost rather it didn’t. The frustration of listening to a tune distorted with static to such a ridiculous degree will have you on the verge of tossing it out of the window, and reversing over it.

Customer Review: Great Value FM Transmitter
I had been thinking about buying an FM Transmitter to use in my car for some time but had been put off by some negative comments re reception problems etc but when I saw this at such a “silly” price I thought why not give it a go ( especially as I needed to add a few pounds to an order I was making for some books to get Super Saver Delivery ! ) The transmitter duly arrived a few days later and I have been very surprised. It was very easy to set up.You just plug it in to your cigarette lighter and connect to the headphone socket of your MP3 player. I have settled on 107.9 FM as the best frequency for my car and the sound quality is more than acceptable with very minimal “hiss”. Build quality appears a bit flimsy but for the money what can you expect.I have no hesitation in recommending this to anyone thinking of buying an FM Transmitter.
