Customer Review: Works really well
After getting a new I-pod Video classic for christmas, I wanted something so I could listen to it in my Works van and my car, If you have a decent stero this will work well best to go to FM2 or FM3 if you have them as will work better that way I found as not so much interfeance from radio stations on the extra FM frequancy’s.

Though did not work well with my Girlfriends Nano as the barcket to hold it in place pushed it to far away for it to dock in and in her Ford Ka it didn’t work on her standard stero

But I have found on any other car I have put it in it works really well sound was good slight fuzz if listening to pod casts but nothing to get on you nerves,

Also really handy to power up ya I-pod

Only thing is make sure where ever you have your power supply for it that its far enough away from your gear stick as could be a big problem

Customer Review: Okay but seriously flawed
The sound this unit produces is very dependent on the car you have. It wasn’t that good driving round London in a Renault Megane until I removed the car’s external aerial, which seemed improve reception.

However, the main flaw is that 4031 doesn’t fit well inside many cars. If your car’s cigarette lighter sticks horizontally out of the dash, this thing will be too heavy and will fall out. If your car’s cigarette lighter sticks up vertically, you may find that you have issues with the holder being set too close to the dash or too close to the gear lever. Have a good look at the space where this will be mounted and ensure that there is room for it.

Also, the unit is flimsy and it’s difficult to use the iPod when it is in the cradle as it moves around so much and even gentle use of the Click Wheel can be enough to knock the cradle out of the socket.

If you want or need an iPod transmitter, get the Griffin iTrip Auto FM unit, which has a cable that allows you to put the iPod where you want rather than hanging on the cigarette lighter.
