Customer Review: Great Little Handycam
I love this camera. Bought as a replacement for my JVC which died suddenly I went for the HC47 on the basis of various reviews I’ve read. It’s easy to operate, a good selection of features and if you buy the infoLithium battery you have up to five hours recording time available. The only let-down is filming in low light conditions, but I was aware of this when I purchased it and that’s the only reason I have given it 4/5. I haven’t tried to use the i.LINK, i download the movies via a USB cable and edit the films using Sony Vegas Movie Studio which is a dream to work with.

The only problem I have is that I can’t put it down, it’s just so much fun to use!

Customer Review: lovely camera but cant download films!!!!!
I bought this camera in May and again in August!!!! Why, because cant get the darn thing to download via IIlink to computer.

Amazon first class service, refunded no probs, but I really want this camera, or one that does work. We tried it on our computer, my brothers 3 computers and none of them could find the camera on the Ilink.

Reported it to Sony who advised us to download updates for software, which we had already done about 5 times all to no avail. So back it goes again. Fortunately my brother has made our films (daughters wedding!!) into DVD’s for us through his canon. What shall we do, do we persevere and try again or just try a different camera. Also have bought loads of tapes and 2 extra betteries for this model.

Anyone else had this problem or know a solution?? Or recommend a different make and model .

P.S. Have now bought another one from local Sony centre (different batch obviously) and it is fine. Lovely camera, cant do better for price and Amazon provides a top class service.

Customer Review: Compact - pocket sized camcorder.
I purchased this model for use on my field trips and interviews in the Amazon Rainforest and the Philippines. It fits in your pocket, and with the removeable SD cards you can have as much storage as you want. It does what it says on the box. It also takes reasonable quality still shots. All in all it’s compact size makes it a winner in my book (which is the reason I bought it). The only gripe is that the battery only lasts an hour (about 1GB of ‘footage’) before needing a re-charge, however I bought some spare batteries which are not expensive (on amazon.co.uk). Also it plugs into the PC via a USB or just use the SD card and you can watch your videos and stills rightaway.
Customer Review: Great little package
The first thing that hits you about this camera is the size. It is tiny, almost too small! After you have got used to its size it is surprisingly easy to use, initally there is a tendancy to hook your fungures around the top near the lens but you get used to the shape quickly. The controls are very easy to use one handed, my son has already created videos while commando crawling around. The quality is easily sufficient for my purposes and well up the the DV camera and better than the Hi8 camera I have had before. Not sure about the longevity of the battery jet because there has been a lot of playback but I managed to get a second for ?6 anyway. The only minus points I can find in the short time I have owned it are…. 1) The bundled software is poor, even just a patch so you can view in Windows Media Player would have been good, you have to install Quicktime to just view the movies 2) When you take advantage of the facility to take a still while videoing you get a pause in the video action but not the sound, then the picture jumps back to video. 3) The lens cap is really fiddily to get off. A filter thread would remove the need for a cap. All in all well worth the money, scary to think I paid ?800 for a Hi8 camera 16 years ago!

Customer Review: This camcorder seems to work fine
I’m very pleased with this camcorder, which I’ve now had for a couple of weeks. However, here are a couple of bits of feedback:

1) The manual is not very helpful when it comes to connecting to your computer and installing the software. The Handycam station should ideally be plugged into the mains, and the camera should click into position on the station otherwise the connection is not properly made. Once it is made, you should see a range of connection options on the camcorder screen, including two for Computer. Select the one on the left. This is what is meant by “choosing the connection mode”.

2) After I’d done this I was able to install the software and burn a DVD. This in spite of the fact that I use a two-year-old VAIO. It’s very strange, when I first rang Sony support they told me that the camcorder is not compatible with the VAIO. However, in a subsequent call the SONY computer technician kindly spent a lot of time taking me through the entire process over the phone and everything works fine. So, if you’ve got one, this thing about the VAIO seems to be incorrect after all. If you make sure you’ve done everything right in 1) above, all should be fine. It was for me, at any rate.

This camcorder is so easy to use, we learned how to use it very quickly in less than an hour, and the quality of the videos is fantastic. I would agree that you need to buy the longer lasting battery if intending to take this camera on holiday-which is what we did and we never ran out of battery as long as both were charged every couple of days at the hotel.Well worth the money, and the spacious hard drive meant instant recording without worrying about discs/tapes or running out of space.

Customer Review: Snug as a bug!
Bought this case for my Canon Ixus 75 (which I also bought on Amazon), And it couldn’t be a better fit! There’a just enough room for a fag paper either side. Really soft suede lining to protect the large screen and top qaulity leather case. The magnetic closer is also great for those sneaky shots. The case itself is not too bulky, and can still easily fit in your pocket! A must for Ixus 75 owners!
Customer Review: Napoli 10 Soft leather Digital Camera case
I bought this for my Fuji F20. As another reviewer mentioned regarding the F31, it is quite a tight fit but is just about ok. I also tried the Napoli 20 but it was a bit too baggy. The main reason why i went for this one was that it doesn’t add much to the camera’s size, so is great for carrying in your pocket. Other cases that i tried had much better padding, but made the camera about the size of a dslr. The case itself is very nicely constructed from leather, and it compliments nicely the quality feel of the camera. Something that i particularly like is that the flap has a magnetic seal instead of velcro. You might wonder what difference this makes: i find it particularly welcome when i want to quietly slide the camera out of its case incognito, without the usual velcro ‘rasping’ noise. Over the couple of months that i have had it, the leather has given a little and the camera now slides in quite freely. The only point to watch for with the F20, is that the photo/video slide switch on top can be caught when you put the camera into the case if you are not careful - once you know about this it is easy to avoid. Overall, a good little case if you know it will fit your camera. I would definitely suggest trying in a store before deciding.
