Customer Review: A good little performer but Amazon disappointing
My overall impression of the DCR-SR32 is that it’s a great little device for the cost…plus it’s a Sony of course. For general everyday use it’s perfect and the small size makes it easy to carry around…unlike earlier camcorders I owned where a needed several bags to transport them!

The disappointing part about Amazon is they reduced the price by roughly ?5 the day after it was delivered to me. It would have been good customer service to have passed on this saving given how quickly the price came down after my order was submitted.

Customer Review: First impressions
Having used a DVD Camcorder previously, I find that this is a big improvement in many ways. Number one is that it is more compact (because of the hard drive) than the DVD version. It also reads and writes much faster than the DVD version and without the nuisance of loading and unloading DVD disks.

One of the reasons for changing to the hard drive was reliability. I bought Panasonic DVD disks for my previous camcorder and took a lot of holiday movies. Unfortunately when trying to view and copy them to my PC, I discovered the batch I had bought were faulty and I had received no indication from the camera when I was recording. Although Panasonic replaced them, it still meant I had lost a lot of holiday memories.

To sum up, I recommend the DCR-SR32 for the small compact size, reliabilty and design.

Mustek DV-8200 Digital Video Camcorder/Digital Camera 8MP
Mustek DV-8200 Digital Camcorder/Camera is an ideal gift for novice/casual photographers. It takes still picture, record high quality movies (with sound), and playback music!
Customer Review: Nasty
in the flesh it looks even cheaper and nastier; its cheap plastic components are not well screwed together either. Buttons are floppy and have an unpleasant feel in use - you’d actually think it was a plastic 50p toy, or came as a gift with a happy meal - or possibly from a christmas cracker. My 12 year old daughter, for whom it was bought as a present, threw it back at me, saying she wouldnt be seen dead with it.

Customer Review: Great little bag
I bought this bag specifically for a new point and shoot digital camera with underwater housing and a number of accessories. It works like a dream and is like Dr Who’s Tardis inside. Intregal cloth and water proof cover are great too. It also has internal pockets, adjustable dividers and slots for memory cards. Really amazing quality and funtionality for such a small bag at a very reasonable price. I chose it as I know Lowepro make great camera bags having owned a bigger version for my SLRs that has kept them safe around the world for years

Customer Review: Quality, versatility and it’s own stlye. (4.5 stars)
OK, Ive had this device for over a week now, and I’ve got to know it pretty well. My original concern before buying was the screen - it wasn’t huge - but I have been very impressed with it’s clarity. For intance the scores of a football match can still be made out, and it has more pixels-per-ich (dpi) than a standard PC screen. The camcorder quality is also impressive, especially in daylight, and is easily good enough to be played back on a television. Using the camcorder at night or in heavy artificial light creates a lot more noise, but it’s still viewable. The still camera is quite good, but at only 1.2 million pixels it’s not going to capture you amazing photo’s, but it’s a great add-on with exposure settings included - good for snapshots. Music playback is great! Its really easy to synchronize with windows media player (once you get used to it - i advise using “set up sync” on the sync tab), and the audio is fantastic, especially as I’m using the included earphones (there are also bass/treble/bass boost settings). The video playback is why I decided for this over the Ipod or others (better battery life and better colour depth) and im not disappointed. But, THE CONVERSION PROCESS IS NOT ENTIRELY EASY, as whatever I did i couldnt get WMVs to play without a mulit-coloured distored screen at the start (I even got a second device which did the same - batch error?) so I convert all mine to Mpeg4 AVIs, using either the included software (which isn’t bad or great) or DIVX video converter. The quality is ace, and hooking it up to the tv (at PAL/DVD quality resolution) is another advantage. Audio recording - great feature, high quality settings inlcuded (may use more memory than you want though) What I most liked about this was the fact that it wasn’t an Ipod/Creative Zen, I wanted something completely different that still did similar things… You may say it doesnt look as good as the Ipod, but people will probably give it more attention - I mean, how many people do you know that has one of these? In colnclusion, once you get used to the controls (which shouldn’t take long) you will want to take this everywhere with you… and it doesn’t scratch easily if you do :)
Customer Review: Nicer than an ipod
I got this as a bday present and i’ve loved it ever since. Its features are i think better than an ipod. Although i still havent figured out how to organise my music better and its all over the place. The video quality is topclass and the battery works excellently….Even when its almost dead, it still lasts for like an extra hour or so.

Sony LSC-VAC Compact Camcorder Soft Carrying Case

Sony LSC-VAC Compact Camcorder Soft Carrying Case
SMALL SIZED SOFT CARRY CASE F/MINI DV AND DVD HANDYCAMS NS

Customer Review: A Lightweight Compact Solution
I was looking for a case that did NOT turn a lightweight & compact camcorder (Sony DCR-HC35) into a heavy large item to carry around whilst out & about, the LCS-VAC lived up to my expectations, it can hold (in addition to the camcorder)1-2 spare tapes, the remote control & a spare battery OR additional small still camera. If you do not take the mains charger with you everywhere you walk to, then this is the case for you. I Paid ?[...] including postage which is much cheaper then anywhere else I have seen since.

Customer Review: A waste of money - search the Internet before buying!
Facts: Cheap. Works fine at first. Then doesn’t. Mine went into a safeguard mode in about a year of light usage. Miraculously healed itself and then went into coma in another month. Half a year after that, working again, started chewing the film’s edges with jerking picture and broken timecode - a couple of cassettes spoiled and a lot of precious moments missed! I went on the Web to search for the first fault remedy and was very unpleased to learn that JVC camcorders are infamous for that kind of things. Personally, after my own experience and all the stuff that I’ve read I am avoiding JVC as a brand.
Customer Review: Zoom/Tape Noisy, Lasted 18 Months
This camcorder was great when I first got it, was one of the cheapest at the time and did everything it was supposed to, but as the months went by I started noticing more and more tape noise on my recordings, where the mic was picking up the sound of the internal mechanism, and the noise from the zoom has been really quite awful. Last week the camera packed up, it just says the lense cap it on all the time, even when it isn’t, so it lasted about 18 months altogether. Not great.

Customer Review: Dissapointed
Ordered one of these from QVC, it came with 2 sets of batteries which lasted for approx 10 minutes worth of video each. I then used some high capacity rechargeable ones which didn’t last much longer. One of the problems is that when the batteries run low the camera turns itself off without warning, and then restarts with anything you were recording ending up corrupted. It looks good, but is not very ergonomic. It is difficult to hold and use the buttons (2 hands often required). It is also very easy to cover the flash and video lights on the front with your fingers. If the person filming happens to talk, their voice is recorded considerably louder than the surrounding audio, as the microphone is directly on top of the camera. For some reason that I didn’t quite get to the bottom of, my computer (which is a little old but fully functional) had a lot of problems with connecting to the camera and also playing the recorded video. For information the video clips are recorded in *.ASF format. The wrist strap attaches at the top and I found this annoying, it would have been better at the side or bottom. The video taken indoors was a little grainy, but on the plus side the outdoor clips were of a decent quality for a camera of this price range. For the price I wasn’t expecting it to be brilliant, but I also didn’t expect to have to take out share’s in Duracell.

Customer Review: Excellent!!
After looking at various models of DV camcorders I came accross this one by accident, I had played with a more expensive Panasonic model but it did not have DV in. The features this model has for the money is in my mind second to none, Stills camera, web-cam etc, etc. The only slight let down with it is the battery. The standard one only gives about 40 minutes of playtime, other then that it is excellent.

Canon EOS 300D Digital SLR Camera Lens Kit [6MP, EF18-55mm]
Used Price: ?324.99
Customer Review: Fantastic entry-level Digital SLR Camera
I’ve had a 300D for over two years and it is a fantastic bit of kit. Very flexible, an excellent 18-55mm lens, and great quality pictures. Occasionally in auto-focus mode it focuses on the wrong spot and I don’t notice, but that is a minor complaint. My only other observation is that in sport mode it can’t take that many shots in a row and I suspect it can’t take full advantage of the higher speed CompactFlash cards although I use 4Gb cards happily in mine. You can’t go wrong with this if you want an entry level digital SLR. 6.3Mpixels seem a bit small in this day and age but you won’t notice unless you’re planning to print A2 or above…
Customer Review: 300d
Have had this camera since it came out, overall its good. I have 2 major issues with this camera though. Firstly build quality: The whole thing has a very plasticy feel to it, it creeks and clicks when you pick it up (its not exactly light!), when compared to the nikon d70 or the Canon 10d the 300d feels quite cheap. Secondly the picture quality isnt consistant: Sometimes the images are very clear and sometimes they are very soft and lack contrast, it also tends to under expose so you find your self having to add several stops of light to compensate. The camera seems to struggle to to take sharp pictures with large telephotos lenses, I have a 135-400mm semi pro sigma lens and it just refuses to take nice sharp pictures. At the lower end the pictures are much better, mainly good sharp images, I have a Canon 24-85 lens which I bought in place of the Canon lens which its provided with (which was a very low quality lens). The camera is very good in doors, using it on Aperature Priority on a tripod in low light levels the pictures are billiant. The auto white balance is very good you never have to adjust it, it always gets it right. As an amateur camera it is very good (dont forget that it is very bulky and heavy!) Just make sure you have a decent lens to put on it.

Customer Review: The best compact for low light/no flash pictures
Agree with the pros/cons review below. If you just want a no hassle auto point and shoot go for Canon’s Ixus. I had that before the FD50 and it is easier to use and the “average” picture turns out better. With the FD50 you have to be willing to venture beyond the “auto” setting and experiment with aperture, light etc. to take as good, if not better, pictures than the other digital compacts out there. However, this camera’s really the best in the market when it comes to indoor pictures and especially low light situations where you want pics without a flash (we have a young baby). Having tested Canon, Minolta and Sony I haven’t seen a better compact than the FD50 for these situations. Superb colors, fine definition and consistent anti-shake: we absolutely love it!
Customer Review: Buy the f40fd instead
I was in the market for a new digital camera. I wanted one that would fit in my pocket but still take good pictures. So after a little bit of hunting around I spotted a review for the F40FD on the Gadget Show web site. I then looked up the F40 and spotted for the same money I could get the F50 from Amazon. So, I figured to myself, that must be a better camera, I’ll take the upgrade. Turns out this was a massive mistake! The picture quality of the F50 is terrible, they are all fuzzy and just make me want to throw the F50 out of the window. Learn from my mistake and buy the F40 instead. The F50FD is just not good enough…in fact it’s not even “good”

Customer Review: Disappointing
I agree with many of the points raised by the previous reviewers. Build quality is fine, the LCD display is great, and yes, absolutely, get a body-only deal and buy a good lens. I went with Sigma myself and it’s superb. However in the auto-modes, I’m disappointed with the images my camera is producing. If you search the web for ‘400D under exposure’ you’ll find a lot of discussion. I don’t think the camera is under-exposing as such, but it is trying it’s hardest to preserve the exposure for the highlights at the expense of the rest of the picture. This means that overall the pictures look dark and require post-processing on a PC. Alternatively you can drive the camera yourself through the program mode, and fortunately there are more than enough variables to play with for pretty good pictures. So, in summary, if you’re looking to get great results in point-and-shoot mode, I think you’ll be disappointed. Get yourself a Nikon D40 instead, or one of the other brands.
Customer Review: Great for the price
Have got both this camera and it’s predecessor the 350D , for ease of use the 400D is a lot better . Though some of that might be down to knowing what the menus do as they are essentially the same . It’s difficult to see any difference in image quality unless you are making big big enlargements , I’ve had some 20×30inch prints done that came out very well . Hopefully the sensor cleaning will prove it’s capability as I’m forever changing lenses and dust build up did become noticeable on the 350D . I always try to shoot RAW images in aperture or shutter priority mode and keep away from auto mode . But the best thing you can do for this camera is not buy the kit lens but instead invest some money in ‘L’ glass if you can afford it or look at some of the 3rd party lenses , Sigma , Tokina or Tamron . For good lens reviews of all makes try PhotoZone or Fred Miranda ( FM Reviews )

Customer Review: Nice camera
This is a good camera from a reputable company. The images are of high quality and are are very true to the subject, i.e. the colours are natural and contrast and so on. No real criticisms really, nice sharp monitor screen and when used with high spec rechargeable batteries you can get over a hundred images per charge on a tiny xd card.
Customer Review: Great Compact Camera for a low price
I have had this 7.1 MP Digital Camera for a few weeks and have taken some great pictures with it. The camera has a 3x optical zoom so you can zoom quite far with it and still take great photos without loss of quality. I also like the 2.5″ screen the pictures show up vibrant, sharp and clear. The controls are well placed and easy to pick up even a kid could have it working in a few minutes. The thing I like the most is my parents are not so tech savvy so the Guide option has helped them as well to take better pictures they do not want to be fussing around with options and then realize that that one time moment has passed. I use 2500mah rechargeable batteries and they last a while I can take about 100 photos. I carry two sets and it is ideal for me, because I can only take around 190 photos on the highest quality setting with my 1GB XD card. I bought the Olympus XD card and it provides a Panorama function, and is great for taking pictures of landscapes. In my opinion I prefer normal batteries due to being able to pick up a few non rechargeable batteries for cheap if my 4 AA’s do die on me (It has not happened yet). The only downside I can see with this camera is it does take a little time to take another picture straight after (mostly at night waiting for flash to charge), but I have not needed to take quick photos. Apart from this the camera is great for the price and I recommend it. You could spend around 50 quid more and get an even better camera but for casual use it fits perfectly for me. If you are a hobbyist or pro I would look else where though.
