Customer Review: Good price for what you can do
I bought this camcorder while on holiday in Singapore, just for the 2007 Sepang Maylasian Grand Prix (Came home and two months later most camcorders were becoming cheaper, Amazon sell this cheaper than what I payed! DOH!) I have never owned a camcorder before but it has good quality and does the job. It does have a lot of camera shake but I’m working on this, sure there is a function somewhere. Works well with Windows movie maker so need to buy expensive software if already got it. It has good playback on the tv too but I felt that when downloaded on the computer the image was a bit naff but again I still need to play about with it.

Good thing to have if you are starting to make movies. Good value, what else do you want?

Camcorders are highly underrated. Nowadays people think you can use your phone or digital camera to do the job, but nothing much compares to recording on a tool made for the job. Over the years I’ve recommended that people use a camera like this one to practice making speeches and presentations - this one is just the job - inexpensive, easy to use, and records onto DVDs, so you can watch the playback on your TV. Making presentations and being good on your feet is just so important nowadays. Practise making your speech or presentation on your feet in front of this camera, then review the results. Nothing will give you better, honest feedback than a camcorder - at this price it’s a no-brainer for advancing your career.

Customer Review: Simple and great value for money
Wasnt expecting much…I now use it all the time. Easy to use, records straight onto an SD card which then plays back in reasonable quality on my TV and my Windows Media Player. Takes both still pictures and video with ease. I probably use this more than my main camcorder as I do alot of You Tube clips and post them online. This is perfect the that!!

Customer Review: Very Nice To Look At But Very Bad Quality
we thought we would buy a camera for our 2 week holiday to tenerife and bought this. The picture is great if you are zoomed in x4 other than that it is appaling even in ‘high quality’ mode making most of our holiday memoirs unwatchable. this camera would not even be suitable as a play thing for teenagers. dont buy its a waste of time and money!

We were very suprised at how good the value for money was with this camcorder. It has many features and good quality. Came with tripod , av adaptor (so no buying thousands of battery)and lots of other accessories. Very light and handy . We would recommend this camcorder if you want quality on a budget!

This is my first review i have ever written, i either dont have the time or cannot be bothered to write reviews but having purchased this camera yesterday i was so anoyed and disgusted by its recording quality that i felt i had to. I feel like i have been robbed and i dont want anyone else to lose their money. unfortunately where i bought it from want accept returns on camcorders so im stuck unless a fault occurs within 30 days.

DO NOT BUY!!!!! Having read the reviews on Amazon and other sites I purchased this camera yesterday and having used it The picture quality is diabolical my samsung phone takes better video. I know its a budget camcorder so i wasnt expecting proffesinal results but i would never have guessed it would be this bad.

I was dubious when i saw this camcorder as the lens looked too small compared to other camcorders in the store and this gave a feeling of low quality but i still went ahead due to the positive reviews i had read namely on this site.

I am realy angry how others including the reviewer on this site can give 5/5 for recording quality.

The recording quality is worse than terrible, images are very grainy in indoor use. I cant understand how the other reviewrs have given anything above a 1 star for this cam, it could possibly be that for this cam to give any accepable image it needs a lot of light, there is no way indoor lights will be sufficient.

When it comes to the night mode it gets even worse. The image is hardy visible and frame rate fluctuates between 1 to 5 fps. Why has panasonic even included this I cant guess.

If you are considering buying this cam go and test it first otherwise you may as well throw your money away.

For image quality i wouldnt even give this camcorder 1/5 but there is nothing lower.

BOTTOM LINE USE YOUR PHONE TO RECORDR VIDEO ANYTHING IS BETTER!!!

Customer Review: It’s good but it’s not the one
I bought this having spent a few weeks reading reviews and product info etc, however, there are some details that aren’t mentioned in most reviews, at least not the one I was interested in.

I had been using a friend’s Mini DV camcorder and opted to buy the same format, as according to most reliable sources, this allowed the highest quality of post edited video.

This is of extremely high importance to Me because I want to be able to chop up my footage on my PC when I get home from surfing and make something watchable. Unfortunately, even though this camera does have a USB connection, it does not allow you to transfer footage from your tapes to your PC - gutted :[

It does operate as a webcam and it does have a DV (4 pin) out which you could use to connect to any machine that has either DV or Firewire ports- most likely a MAC (ace machines, can’t believe I sold mine) but you really must check your machine at home if you want to avoid similar frustration and disappointment.

I’m sending mine back and getting an HDD camcorder, which may lose some smoothness of frame rate, but at least my footage won’t be stuck on thousands of little tapes.

Has to be said though, from my limited time with the camera, it felt good, worked really well, adapted to changes in light conditions and auto focused really quickly. Would have been an awesome camera.

Customer Review: Not for your pocket
I just got bought this camera for a present and was taken aback at the size of the zoom lense sticking out the front. I suppose I should have realised given that it was a 7x zoom, but the pictures on Amazon are cleverly taken directly from the front and back so there is no depth perception. I can’t comment on the picture quality or noise as I’m intending to send it back and go for something a little more streamline.
Customer Review: Cool but a little big in the pocket
I have a few pro DSLR cameras but bought this as a “work” cam. I like it the design its good and solid and the pics are fine. I have not had problems with noise some other reviewers mention however I work in Africa and there is usually (well in the daytime anyway) plenty of strong sunlight so low iso=low noise. Gripes: The lens cap keeps coming off esp. in the pocket, so I secure it with thick elastic bands. The zoom is quick but the zoom button seems to have a mind of its own. I didnt get a manual with the camera but its easy to work out and I like the touch buttons. Dont put the camera in your back pocket,if you sit on it, you will probably have to have your hip replaced.Anyway, as I said I like it and its retro look. I would most likely buy it again given the choice over again.

Customer Review: Took a while to get used to but great camera…
Had been wanting a new high quality compact for a while and went for this one after trying out a friends T100. I really wasn’t sure about the picture quality at first (Particularly landscapes) but after a while I have got used to it and I now think it is really great. Having a touch screen to navigate the options is so much easier than silly buttons and most of the options are actually useful, very good at evening and low light shots, very good for people and really excellent in good light. Another big plus is that it remembers what you last told it to do, rather than having to reprogramme it each time. Flash never great but I don’t like flash photos anyway? Also it is really nice to look at and surprisingly doesn’t feel flimsy.
Customer Review: Bad picture quality
Being a chap that trusts Sony products I was really looking forward to owning the DSC-T200 and assumed that Sony would have made a camera that produced fantastic photos as well as all the bells and whistles. Boy was I wrong! This is a great camera, apart from the fact that the picture quality is totally rubbish. My previous camera was a DSC-P200 (7.2MP) and this utterly trounces the T200 on picture quality. Sony have clearly upped the megapixels but thrown away all that extra data by compressing the image to two thirds the size of the images produced by the P200, what a waste! This produces dull, noisy images with a lot of compression artifacts to try and remove some of the noise. The manager in the Sony Center Croydon quite belligerently commented that in order to get the smile detection, touchscreen etc Sony has compromised on picture quality. Totally unacceptable! Don’t by this if you value your photos.
