I bought this camcorder while on holiday in Singapore, just for the 2007 Sepang Maylasian Grand Prix (Came home and two months later most camcorders were becoming cheaper, Amazon sell this cheaper than what I payed! DOH!) I have never owned a camcorder before but it has good quality and does the job. It does have a lot of camera shake but I’m working on this, sure there is a function somewhere. Works well with Windows movie maker so need to buy expensive software if already got it. It has good playback on the tv too but I felt that when downloaded on the computer the image was a bit naff but again I still need to play about with it. Good thing to have if you are starting to make movies. Good value, what else do you want?

Wasnt expecting much…I now use it all the time.

Easy to use, records straight onto an SD card which then plays back in reasonable quality on my TV and my Windows Media Player.

Takes both still pictures and video with ease. I probably use this more than my main camcorder as I do alot of You Tube clips and post them online. This is perfect the that!!

Bought this as a Christmas present for the other half who had little positive to say about our existing prosumer digital camera.

Despite its low price this camera beats the other device by a good way - much to my relief!

She is now taking loads of images the only downside is that alkaline AA batteries do not last very long. Partly a function of more flash photos being taken but possibly due to the image stabilisation which we have switched on at all times.

The supplied 16Mb memory card is only good for about 7 images at max resolution and so a bigger card is a must. 1gb is plenty and should hold nearly 500 images before needing to be downloaded or swapped out.

We have not had much success with downloading to the supplier Canon browser software via the supplied camera/ pc lead but a memory card reader works fine.

To sum up - a super little camera which deliver excellent jpeg images.

So who needs a big bag anyway that?s going to take up serious luggage space on your holiday, to fit all the paraphernalia that you don?t really need! So keep it small and compact, get rid of the tag along nonsense that just gets in the way. Clip it onto your belt buckle so it does not even get classed as hand luggage when you check in for that long awaited holiday!

Customer Review: Sony NP-BG1 Battery for N/T/W Series Cybershot Camera
There is not a lot you can review about a battery really. Its exactly the same as the one that came with the digital camera I bought from Amazon. I wanted a second battery as a spare - the camera can only work with this type of battery and if you need to replace while out and about you do need that luxury of an extra battery.

The delivery time was great and the price was spot on. The battery works perfectly well and charges very fast - see the new charger info reviewed elsewhere - all in all a great item that will add security and piece of mind to my photo shooting around the planet.

I bought my Sony Cybershot DSC-N1 from Amazon on 22 June last year. It’s a brilliant camera. The NP-BG1 rechargeable battery failed catastrophically on 20 June 2007 - just under the 12 month guarentee - a very poor battery life. Sony seems to be dogged with poor battery quality for PCs and now cameras.

Amazon was unwilling to provide a replacement battery though it was initially willing to refund the cost of my camera if I returned it. However, this brilliant camera is no longer available. Catch 22. In a second e-mail exchange Amazon (a week after the failure) claimed that the camera was now out of warranty ie the 12 months guarentee doesn’t apply to when an item fails, but when you report and return it. You can’t do always report the same day when you are away. Amazon has succeeded and worn me down. I paid for another battery.

why hello……… basically i brought this camera about a week ago and at first i must say that i thought it was pretty terrible i kept geeting blurry shots with noise…. i am doing a animation for art school works and for that it was truly gret as you can speed through shots really fast and by pressing unzoom in view mode see all your pictures idsplayed NICEly. As you begin to master the camera in all its glory your pictures will become far more clear ive been mainly using auto mode recently and they look sowwweeet. Also there are sooo many different modes to choose from which each make a noticable difference. battery life is pretty bad buy a few, while animating lasted about 3 hours but i guess i was taking continual shots and deleting etc. the macro mode is pretty awesome for taking very close up shots, took some of flowers, grass, jeans, dead insects etc. and its very impressive. It’s looks are great not to mention its size and still preforms well enough to blow up to A3 (they actually look good)you just have to give this camera some time and then you will realise its true greatness and this is coming from someone who was going to send it back when i first tried it. Sooooooooooooooo just stick with it and you’ll end up with some really good photos. I do art i know what i’m talking about. ohh yer watch out for people trying to jack it cos i assure you, you’ll be very angry.

I think all purchasers of Sony Digital cameras should be aware of their repair policy. Having purchased a Sony camera I was annoyed to find that, when it failed a short while out of guarantee, the minimum cost of repair was in excess of ?100. Add to that a massive handling charge which was payable even if I didn’t accept a repair. I think all purchasers of Sony products should be aware of this and base whether it is worth purchasing a Sony camera on the fact that if it goes wrong - even after a short period outside of guarantee they will have to consign it to the rubbish bin. The camera had been used on no more than six to eight occasions.

Well what can i say about this camera, i recieved it on Friday, took it out on the town and straight away started snapping my pics as soon as i was on the train, the pictures are lovely, and the memory is fantastic, the features are very good, and the battery charge (3.5 hrs for full charge) is very good. The software included is very user friendly and is a doddle to setup I highly recommend this Camera to first timers as its my first Digital camera, after owning the excellent K800i camera phone, which was one of the reasons which led me to chose this item Excellent 10 on 10! Lovely Stuff!

From the fast startup time, to the bright 2.5″ LCD, this camera is amazing! I have had this camera for 7 months now, and I am still incredibly impressed with everything about it. I have used many different cameras, and this one is by far the easiest to use, and simplest to take good pictures! However, you need to make sure that you get a good memory card (I suggest 1GB) because the 7.2 MP pictures eat through space like anything, and a case is also essential, so as not to ruin the gorgeous screen. The only remotely flimsy part of the whole design is the DC in port door, but unless you buy a special charger, you dont need it anyway, so it doesnt matter!
