Customer Review: Good value case
I needed a reasonable case to carry my DCR-SR55E around in, but didn’t want to pay the earth. This is a Sony branded case which fits most of today’s small format camcorders quite snugly. It has the main compartment for the camera, and perhaps a cable or two, which has a double zip fastening and a Velcro fastening pocket which really doesn’t hold very much at all! A spare battery or other small item. It has one adjustable strap which goes over the shoulder.
Lightly padded, it offers a degree of protection to the contents. If you just need to travel light, and don’t need to carry a lot of accessories, this case could be just the job for you. If you need more space then you’d better look elsewhere!
Customer Review: Great little case
Great little light weight compact carry case for my Sony HC47 Handycam. Only slight downside is not reinforced for protection but is slightly padded so quite sufficient for a carrycase for general use. Big enough for handycam, battery and tape but probably not much else. Great value for money.

Customer Review: Pocket DV
Bought this at a pc fair for ?35.00, so gave it a work out on a holiday, as a bit of a toy. Never expected great quality but it held up well in bright sun and in a dim cave. Forget the mic for recording any live music as it distorts quickly, but sensitive for speech ect.Really does fit in pocket and you really start to use it everywhere which can be fun.If you put in new duracells and not using the light all the time had good results. Now the bad part the files are asc and recorded as separet files so they have to be converted by software provided which takes ages.I then edited ii together in 2 software packages, there own and XP Movie, and as yet have not been able to get it onto a dvd, or harddrive, perhaps i was doing something wrong ??. Also i recorded at so called D1 quality which is only 20 frames but better quality than VGA.Then the camera was stolen out of my coat pocket so that is that. Will i buy another one, perhaps yes if it records in a standard format. Also could not get playback direct onto TV although it was switched to PAL and 50 hz. very usful but dont throw you DV Camera away just yet.
Customer Review: great value fo money
i too have bought this item from QVC. It is great value for money and takes perfect videoing. I would recommend this for anyone who wants an easy to use video recorder thats compact to take out on a night out or for on holiday. i do agree with the previous customer the AA batteries supplied by qvc only lasted 10 mins. I have tried Duracel plus AA batteries and they lasted for about 25 mins. i’ve just purchased from Amazon an Energizer 1hr charger with 4 AA batteries at 2500mah for ?11.99 and let my video run to see how much recording i could do and i have had about 70 mins which are perfect. I like the fact that these use aa batteries because my camera as a lithium rechargeable battery and when i’m out and about and this runs out theres nothing you can do until you get home to charge them, whereas you can pop into nearest shop and pick up a set of aa batteries. i am so please with this item and would recommend it to anyone.

Customer Review: Surprised at Picture, no stills really a bonus.
I bought this as a present for my sister and brother in law. As they live abroad I naturally gave it a good test. The idea was for a basic easy to use camcorder. The lack of still features was just one less hassle, they already have a decent digital camera. Well, it turned out to be a doddle to use, but what really surprised me was the picture. On our Panasonic flat screen CRT TV the picture was superb. The ability to play the recorded DVD back straight away, either using a DVD player or through the camera itself is really useful. Once the basics are known there are plenty of features to play around with, but they do not get in the way. The screen and viewfinder worked well, and in sunlight the eyepiece view finder is really useful, it is also easier to hold steady. The only snag was editing as my software, not being the latest, would not take the .VOB files. Anyhow I managed to convert them and edit and found that the image loss from this changing was not anywhere as near as bad as I expected. I subsequently found that current versions of editing software cope with the DVDs directly, so not a problem. Only other faff is the need to prepare RW disks. No big deal and they can be reused. R discs are straight in and certainly worth using for those events you do not not want to accidentally wipe away. Anyhow, as it was a Christmas present it was naturally used at Christmas and the new year, indoor without a lot of light. Again from all the reports I expected this to be terrible. In fact it was the opposite! All in all I was surprised at how well this camera performed. Certainly better than my 12 year old Canon Hi8 which cost over twice this price then!! Most reviews suggest getting the DC100 because of the extra features. I say get the DC95 because it DOES NOT have a load of basically redundant features. I suspect the lack of these ‘extras’ might be helping, but certainly does not hinder the performance of this camera. As for getting the small DVDs. Marks and Spencers own brand. With the groceries in Waitrose.
