Customer Review: Excellent machine.
I bought my camera from Singapore last year where it was ?50 cheaper. My requirement was to combine still camera with movie camera in a super-portable form - and this camera achieves that. The picture is lush… the colours vibrant and sharp. I happily take the camera everywhere….it’ll fit comfortably in a trouser pocket (or the wife’s handbag)… battery lasts for ages…The quick-start is a real plus - just take off the lens cap and it’s shooting. I love the way I can slot the memory card directly into my PC and download the files in seconds. Only complaint is the user manual, which isn’t great. I just don’t understand why other manufacturers have caught on to this design and functionality!
Customer Review: Great entry level hd
This is a great budget hd camcorder and has been unfairly judged on hd camcorders that are much more expensive. For general family stuff and holidays this is ideal better than tape for sure, ok its not great in low light like a lot of camcorders, but how often do you need it in low light? If so switch some friggin lights on and its ok. I have found that getting the right iso settings and choosing the right colour setting helps lots also.The size of it and gun style grip appeals and seems more natural than other designs. Also if you have a huge tv i.e around 50 inch then its going to push the boundaries and stretch a few pixels but on an average size tvs its great.I would have liked a wider angle lens but you carn’t have everything at this price.

Customer Review: Worth the money but not 720p (576i/p)
Got this at the weekend. Good product. fits in the hand nice, light and easy to use. The max recording resolution is 768 x 576 interlaced or progressive. takes sd cards upto 8gb with SDHC. Quality is good but not massivly impressive, but for the price its worth it. Records to mpeg-4 requires codec to be installed then the videos play straight from windows. has a 2.7 inch 16:9 screen but only records in 4:3 (very werid). Not tested battery life but it claims 120mins. Hope that helps. Raptor

Customer Review: Fantastic Camcorder
I’m really pleased with the clarity of picture and ease of use. Loading the software on to my pc made it crash so just be careful ! I am not happy with Amazon though - part of why I ordered it through them was because they said I could have a free tripod and case - I must have mis keyed something and it didn’t arrive - usual case of good when selling and rubbish after service me thinks

Customer Review: Excellent Book
This an excellent book, well laid out and easy to follow. I looked at several books on this subject and this is the one I bought. The only problem is this was written before CS3, Lightroom or Elements 6, so the monochrome conversion part is now out of date, maybe there will be an update soon.

Customer Review: Not a lot of depth
Although this is a very attractively produced book, with good illustrative images, I was disappointed in the text, much of which seems rather vague and lacking precision. The book addresses monochrome printing from the perspective of a darkroom worker who now wants to move to digital, and learn the photoshop techniques to replicate traditional darkroom processes.

This may benefit someone just getting into digital, but for an experienced digital worker I feel this is a flawed approach which can lead to a rather narrow view of the possibilities. In addition, many of the techniques are described merely in principle with too much general language (e.g. ..using a large brush..) describing the how, and not enough discussion of why. Also the section on colour to mono conversion, which really should be the core of the book, is the least satisfying.

Customer Review: Excellent cheaper alternative to the Canon battery
I got one of these a few months back and have not been dissapointed. At 850Mahs, this battery is 100mAhs more than the proper Canon battery that comes with the camera. The battery lasts just as long as the Canon one, though i have not tested that scientifically. An absolute bargain alternative to the very expensive Canon battery. I have to say though that the ?30 i payed for this battery is still ridiculously expensive, no one should have to pay more than ?10 for such a small battery!!
Customer Review: Red Bull for your camera
I do not usually trust non-OEM batteries like this, but I can say that this one has proven me wrong. I paid double this price for an original Canon NB-2L spare for my S40 camera 2 years ago, but both have now deteriorated to a level where they only last a few shots using flash as they seem to have lost peak capacity and don’t hold charge very well any more. I’m not sure if this is down to my storage methods, usage pattern or a design “feature” but I was starting to dislike my camera due to the poor battery life. As a cheaper alternative to replacing my camera, I decided to give one of these a try. It arrived a couple of days before my annual holiday so I charged it up and thought no more about it. It was only on day 13 of the holiday that it went flat after taking about 10 minutes of video and about 100 photos (25-50% flash) that I realised it had done exceptionally well. They have a high quality feel and whilst the colours are not original this is not seen inside the camera. I have not put any science behind it, but it has outlived the original Canon performance when they were new, slaughtered the performance of my now ageing Canon batteries and cost me half the price. I’m so pleased I’m about to order a second and get rid of the old ones.

Customer Review: A review from a budding photgrapher who is trying to improve
For anyone who loves photography this is a book to be highly recommended. It is the most inspirational photography book I have ever had and I have shown and recommended it to many of my friends who now intend buying it. I am registered on ePHOTOzine and can say it a five star site but what its owner and founder, Peter Bargh, has done in this book is pick out some of the very best photos that have been uploaded on there by its members. All the photos give details on how each has been shot and by which ePHOTOzine member and there are hundred of tips on photography and editing in Adobe Photoshop. It is absolutely ace and it has definitely inspired me to be more creative in my photography.

I am an avid EPHOTOZINE fan, it really is the place to be, if your a photographer, but this book is better than all my expectations. The book is broken down into sections for ease of use and all the photos are those taken by different e-photozine members. The book includes guides to photography and information on photographers who have improved and the images that demonstrate those improvements.
