Customer Review: Sensational for the price
I have a semi pro Minolta camera, that I never seem to have to hand when needed, due to its size. It cost almost ?1000 a few years ago. It can produce superb pictures, but needs time , effort and some skill to achieve that.

I decided to try a cheap compact (?56) that can easily be carried in the pocket and is ready to go in seconds. The name is pretty re assuring – its a Canon, so you would expect high standards. To say I’m impressed is an understatement. This camera can take stunning photos. It even has a macro facility that allows you to focus within an inch or so of the subject.

With a 2Gig memory card for around ?10, you can take and store around 700 photos. I have seen nothing that comes close to the quality of the photos that this can take for less than ?200 or so – even on point and shoot auto setting.

As with all smaller cameras, there are limits, but for most users, this ticks all the boxes. There are many features that can be explored, but for most folks will buy this for ‘point and shoot’ photograhy and will not be dis-appointed. 5 M pixels allows superb A4 reproductions. For most users this is more than enough. I doubt even 1 in 1000 users have ever needed a photo larger than that. Don’t be fooled into thinking more pixels equates to a better camera.

While small overall and pocket sized, it is thicker than many newer models, but with a width of about 40mm its still not too large. Why pay many times this price to get more Mpixels and 10mm thinner?

I suspect the Minolta will be up for sale soon!

Customer Review: Excellent product recommended to others
I am not a good digital camera buyer, but when I bought this camera I was really impressed at the photo/video quality and the great capability to shoot photos in the dark. It also has a traditional viewer to get the angle view of the photo perfect.

This camera in any occasion will not let you down, with sharp, clear and precise photos/videos I would recommend this camera to anyone that wants a good start in Digital Photography or does it as a hobby.

In conclusion, I would give this camera a 10/10 score.

Customer Review: Cracking little camera.
My 4th digital camera and it gets the colours near to perfect. Good sharp photos – no complaints. Video on HQ settings is adequate but if you want good quality video then buy a dedicated camcorder. The device is smaller than I expected. If you’ve got big thick hands like me then beware – the on/off button is too small, the SET button requires fingernail action, the usb compartment is very very fiddely. I’m gonna have to order a spare battery because the 2.5 hour recharge isn’t good enough. Negatives asides it does a grand job with point and shoot and am glad I bought it.
Customer Review: great camera overall but pictures are flat
My old Sony 3.2 megapixel Cybershot finally conked out after years of extensive service, and this camera was a significant upgrade. It truly is excellent in many areas, including picture quality, battery life, and startup time — all of this from a camera that (finally!) really does fit in a shirt pocket. I have also found the camera to be very sensitive; it is able to take good pictures with very little light. There is one thing about the camera that is quite annoying, however, and that is that the pictures tend to be flat. Compared with the Sony I had, the colour isn’t vivid, and the contrast isn’t stark enough. As I have Adobe Photoshop, this isn’t an insurmountable obstacle; I just edit my favourites. But I take a lot of photos, and more and more this is getting to be a real pain. My Sony definitely had other problems, mainly with startup time and battery life — but when I have to buy my next camera, I might go back to them just for this reason.
