JVC GZ-MG155EK Hard Disk Camcorder
JVC 30GB HDD Camcorder
Customer Review: JVC Rock!
This camcorder is brilliant, the picture quality is above the price and the connections provided by the docking station are all you need for an all in one capture/recording studio. Fun for all the family and so easy to use. I recommend this to anyone looking for a compact camcorder who are fed with with the extra discs/tapes needed in other camcorders
Customer Review: Strong Camera - better than most
I think the above reviewer has a problem with his camera and needs to take it back to the store, as my GZ-MG155 is a little stunner! The video quality is fantastic and its so easy to use that I can give it to the kids to capture footage. 30 GB HDD is easily enough for my recording and the docking station sitting next to my TV and sharestation allows easy storing of my footage.
I did not give it 5 stars as it does not have the best digital stills on the scene, but I bought t as a video camera and the digital photos is a nice extra. So overall, for the money I spent, I got a bargain and JVC have a winner with this cam

Customer Review: Easy to use Camcorder
I have owned a Camcorder for the past 10 years and decided it was time to upgrade to a new model / type to take advantage of the new smaller units now available. Before deciding what type of Camcorder to buy ( Tape / DVD / Hard Drive ) I decided to use the Amazon site for feedback and re search. I finally decided to buy the Sony DCR-DVD306 Handycam DVD Camcorder. I have now owned the Camcorder for 1 month and have been pleased with the all round performance. The camcorder is easy to operate, small and light to carry and produces good results in both good and low light conditions. The quality of still pictures is not particularly great if taken in ‘zoom’ mode. I was concerned over comments about the controls being difficult to operate, I have not found any difficulty, I have also found transfering the recordings by either PC or through the TV fairly straight forward although it took me some time to set up the transfer the first time. The Camcorder is not supplied with a very powerfull battery or a seperate charger, these are available from Sony after registration at a 25% discount, you will need a more powerfull battery if not a fast charger, accessories are a bit pricy even after the discount ! Overall I am pleased with the product, functions, quality and performance.
Customer Review: Sony DVD306E review.
This is my first DVD camcorder replacing my old Canon MV400i and I have found it a pleasure to use. It is copmpact in your hand and the touch screen is a great feature. The picture and sound quality are excellent and conncecting to my computer was a doodle whether it was via the supplied USB cable or simply inserting the 8cm DVD.

Customer Review: great performance-indifferent design
My old panasonic mini dv camcorder finally gave up the ghost after 5 years faithful service so I did a fair bit of internet trawling looking for a replacement. It came down to this panasonic and a sony model (dcr hc 47) The sony was a far sexier piece of kit, looks wise, but performance didn’t measure up to the panasonic. The panasonic has a very good optical image stabiliser (not electronic like sony) which is important since camera shake on these small camcorders can be a problem. It also interfaces very smoothly via firewire with my existing editing software (ulead video studio 10 plus) It also helps that I already had a spare SD card from my digital stills camera whereas the sony takes a MMC card. The pictures from the panasonic are excellent - video image is superb and even the still pictures are OK. The zoom is a bit measly (x10) but the digital zoom up to x25 is actually very good. The usability of the camera is also very good-menus are well laid out and easily navigated via a mini joystick and the instruction manual is straightforward. The buttons are all easily reached although I wouldn’t want my hands to be much smaller as the zoom slider does sit quite high up. It offers a very easy point and shoot experience and has enough manual functions to keep a ‘fiddler’ like me happy. The downsides-It is not pretty (very well finished and well laid out)but no looker. You will not get envious glances from other parents when filming the school nativity play but if you rate performance over show-off appeal this is a great camera.
