Customer Review: Excellent Value, glad I bought this one!
Bought this cam a few days ago from Amazon (received in less than 18 hours!) and this is an instant hit! There is a review which states this cam has a cheap tinny feel to it, but Ive no idea where that comes from. Im a 6ft man and so my hands are fairly big, but the cam is perfect size and poses no problems there.. the menu nav system is easy to manage and again ive no problems with the user interface. Im not really upto scratch on the specs of recent devices, but this cam has very good quality when viewing the vids on a mac (yes its highly compatible on my mac) and the zoom is pretty impresive too (although when finger is on zoom the focus is abit off). Battery power seems reasonable, ive not given that a full test yet though! Like I said, I’ve only had the cam a few days but I really cant fault it in any department and especially for its price, size etc.. so why not 5 stars..? Well the only negative I can state is that the lens has a manual cap and in time im sure that will get loose or break.. (also there was no SD card included, but I guess thats not really a problem with the cam). I doubt I’d have been as happy if I’d chosen a different one.
Customer Review: Really nice piece of Kit
Bought this after reading all the reviews and discussions I could find on the web. Opinion is mostly good with the odd bad review here and there. One important point i came across is that this camera saves files in a format (mp4) that needs a good codec to read it. there are apparently some not so good codecs and players out there that will make the films on here look badly pixelated. With the right codec the picture quality is excellent. I love this camcorder it is well thought out. to transfer to pc all you need do is plug in usb and drag it across. you save on the weight of Hard drive camcorders and gain a plus in convenient size and weight. It is easy to use out of the box, good battery life and all the more complex settings are available if you should wish to use them. For the price I would say it is amazing

Customer Review: Good for the money
Got this camcorder today and I have been impressed with its performance so far. Picture is far superior to my old Sony handicam 8mm. The size is excellent, like all HDD camcorders, but the best thing is the price, ?250 for a HDD camcorder! The only thing I can identify as a negative point is that the lens cap is not part of the camcorder body, instead it is tethered to the camcorder and needs to be fitted each time it is not in use. An integral lens cap would be much better, but I think JVC have identified this on their newer versions. All in all excellent value for money, Sony and Panasonic cannot touch this on price.

This is my first camera so can’t really compare, this is a tiny camera, looks great and feels solid. The recording time is really good and the quality is great, really easy to use and there are loads of features to mess around with, only downside is the connection to Mac, i have a Apple iBook, and it can be quite annoying trying to export movies into iMovie/iDvd, it can be done, just takes a bit of messing around… would highly reccomend camera though.

Customer Review: Low Quality Camcorder
I bought the Camcorder from Amazon because I previously had a Hi8 Samsung camcorder, which died. The functionalities of this DV version is very basic and it is made from cheap plastic. It feels like it is going to break anytime soon. I tried it for 10mins and sent it back and I bought the DCR-HC27 sony dv camcorder from Amazon which is excellent. You get what you pay for, u decide. And it did not come with firewire cable or editing software

I had the good fortune to buy this camera yesterday and am absolutely amazed with it, the video quality is incredible, the zoom is fantastic, and the different modes are likewise. The one problem I have with it is it doesn’t have a PC cable.
