Customer Review: If only it would work properly…
Good features and easy to use - conceptually. But. But. But. It constantly freezes and crashes my PC despite having much more memory and disc space than the minimum specified. My CPU speed should also be more than adequate to do the job. The internet has many reports of people having similar trouble with this software. This is absolutely unacceptable for software which will be used for large time-consuming video editing work, where a failure can be highly irritating to say the least. Pinnacle try to hide behind various excuses, mainly blaming the heavy computational load of video editing. That is rubbish. Properly written software would just run more slowly - it would not, repeat, not crash. The software concept must be fatally flawed. After a week of struggling I gave up and bought Sony Vegas instead. I have been using Vegas every day for two weeks now without a single freeze or crash. However, note that Sony Vegas is more complex to use and so has a steeper initial learning curve.

Customer Review: Pretty good!
I got this camera a few weeks back, and I have to say that I’ve been delighted with the results. As has been mentioned before, the picture quality drops in very low light situations, and if you want to film on the highest zooms then you’ll need steadier hands than mine(or a tripod)! But, all in all it’s worked very well for me indoors and out. One of the appeals of flash memory for me is the ease of transferring video on to a laptop. I can’t comment on how it performs with a card reader, but the device itself imports the data quickly and with the minimum of fuss, although you have to keep the camera plugged in to the mains whilst you do it. I’d read that some people had had issues importing to iMovie on a Mac - no problems here for me. I’m not too sure why Canon have bothered with the FS10 & 11 models as the price of flash storage makes them overly expensive, but that’s their decision! All in all, if you’re looking for a very compact, lightweight, easy to use and cheap flash memory camcorder, you could do a lot worse than this little number.
Customer Review: Grainy and lots of noice at low light
I bought this camcorder because of the Canon’s reputation for poor light performance, but I am disappointed, too grainy and lots of noice at low lit situations. Avoid this if you want to do filming indoors. good points are , very good quality at ideal lighting conditions Zoom is very good( I can’t find much quality difference at say 1X and at 45X).
