Customer Review: A very good camera which has not let me down
I have owned this camera for over a year now, with holidays and weddings filmed. So far I have to say that it has been really good value for money. The picture is very good, it has a 40x optical zoom (you will need a tripod if using) and the touch screen is very simple to use with some useful features. I’m not an expert on cameras so this is perfect for filming home movies (decent or otherwise!), holiday stills and footage plus I have recently filmed a wedding which came out really well. The 30gb of memory means that you can literally film for years without having to clear it and it is easy to upload onto a laptop. My suggestion though is that you ensure you have a recent laptop as it struggled with my girl friends lower spec toshiba, which is relatively new. Its also very compact which means that you dont have to worry about it taking up space plus the bag as part of the package ensures I can keep all together. The battery lasts about 90mins on normal filming so I would recommend getting a spare as I have been caught out a few times. Overall a really good camera and if your not a budding david bailey then this will certainly provide good value for money.

Customer Review: A Versatile and Well Designed Camcorder
Having used a Sony Hi8 analogue camcorder since 1997 I thought it was time to upgrade to digital. I’ve had my DCR-SR32 now for about six weeks and as an easy to use, very compact machine I am very pleased with my purchase. The 40X zoom is very impressive and the convenience of being able to switch easily between video and still mode is most useful. I feel that when I am more conversant with the touch screen it will be an efficient way to access the many features available on this camera. A couple of gripes though, firstly : if,like me,you like to start and finish scenes by fading in and out, access to the fade out is very fiddly. Fading in is fine as this is accessed befofe starting to film but fade out (which must be done while the camera is running) takes 3 screen touches to access, during which it is virtually impossible not to shake the camera. Secondly: the supplied software is fine for stills but woefully inadequate for movie footage. In order to edit your films it would be neccessary to use a commercial video editing suite. To summarise, I’m on the whole quite pleased with my new camera add if it lasts me as long as my previous machine and is as reliable , then I will be extremely satisfied with my purchase.

Samsung DVD Camcorder with 2.7″ LCD Display

Customer Review: Does the job.
When the camcorder arrived I was pleasantly surprised at how small and lightweight it is. It is extremely simple to use although the battery life is terrible - about an hour. The zoom is good but the image shakes a lot when you have it on maximum zoom. The lens cover doesn’t come attached with a string so I lost that on the day I got it. The sound quality is fairly good but you can’t really hear it if you play it back on the camcorder rather than a tv or laptop. The picture quality is good but filming in dark conditions doesn’t produce a good picture. Overall, I’d recommend this camcorder because it’s value for money, lightweight and produces good videos. You will have to have a collection of spare batteries with you or alternatively take the charger with you.
