Customer Review: HD Editing
Great camera with some nice features, including TV on-screen zoom facility via handset - easy to use and no problems encountered yet. Don’t know if it’s relevant but Serif’s MoviePlus5 software supports HD video format (is this the same as AVCHD?) and DVD Authoring. I have not purchased or tried it!
Customer Review: SR1 - You CAN edit - Options
The SR1 is a great camcorder and a quick way to get your own HD footage onto your HDTV via an HDMI cable. But as other reviewers have pointed out - editing is not so simple - AVCHD (.m2t files) is quite new and is not supported yet by the common NLEs (non linear editor programs) Options are: 1. Supplied software will enable you to burn footage to a DVD (-R) which will play as HD in a PS3 (it will NOT play in a normal DVD player which is only SD - standard definition) 2. Elecard sell HD conversion software which converts from AVCHD to HDV which can be edited (most NLEs - Premiere Pro etc) 3. Sony Vegas (version 7e only) and Pinnacle v11 supports AVCHD which will allow you to edit on the PC and (theoretically at least) move the edited footage back to the SR1 for viewing in HD on a HDTV You could of course get a blu-ray burner too!! I think the options will grow as more AVCHD camcorders ship - although anything that edits AVCHD is going to be very processor and memory intensive

The new SDR-S7 is a stylish model with an ultra-compact go-anywhere design. It offers a small size light weight and superb mobility made possible by SD/SDHC Memory Cards letting you shoot video with the same casual ease and carry-about convenience they enjoy with small digital still cameras. For occasions when in the past it may have seemed a bit awkward to pull out a camcorder such as on short outings or business trips the SDR-S7 is ideal..

Customer Review: Absolutely brilliant!
I bought a Canon camcorder only 6 months ago and never really got on with it as it was not really small enough to fit in a pocket and only recorded for 30 minutes onto mini dvds so I decided to get this tiny Panasonic and it is FANTASTIC! I took it to Sri Lanka on my holiday and with an 8gb SDHC memory stick I recorded for over 4 hours. It is so light and small that you can take it anywhere, it is up and running in seconds, and by the end of the holiday everyone in the group was taking the model number and wanting to get one too. It was smaller than most people’s digital still camera. The quality is great and with the digital zoom going up to 700x with a steady hand I could shoot fruit bats that the others could not even see at the top of a tree in the next field! You will definitely not regret buying one.
Customer Review: Great portable, compact camcorder
First camcorder that I’ve bought and it works great. Super compact size, very light and with an 8GB card you can get a couple of hours of storage. Unlike DV and tape camcorders, it is extremely simple to edit and merge clips on a PC or Mac. Most impressively it starts up in seconds and the sound is very good, even when zoomed in.

Customer Review: Be very aware
I have borrowed my neighbours GR-DX97EK and after almost an hour of filming come up against the dreaded condensation issue that, so I have read, affects a lot of JVC camcorders. If you look on the web you will get further information on this issue. It is sad that this unit suffers from this problem as it has a number of great features.
Customer Review: roar
heeheehee this is great and cool and I want another one.it has a night vision mode and it’s not green like the normal ones but it shines uv light at you and you go purple in the dark, and it doen’t hurt your eyes (unless you turn the LED light on) and it re-adjusts to the light when you turn it on. zooms good, but you might need to re-focus it manually. tripod recomended, the HAMA STAR 61 is great… but thats a different product.
