Customer Review: Technology comes cheap…
At ?180 I continue to be amazed by price and quality of technology. “Tape?”, you may ask but as the media is cheap and having found it easy to do basic editting on my PC, I feel justified by the decision not to spend more money on a DVD-model. I selected the MD235 over the MD160 as it was cheaper and I didn’t need a still photo feature. Also, the camera records in widescreen as standard & has an optional mic input which may come in handy in the future. Straight out of the box, I found the camera was easy to use. The camera is light and compact. The zoom is quick and focussing reasonably rapid though low light performance isn’t that good with the “LCD light” practically useless. The playback and image quality is lovely and colours are vibrant and lively. On the LCD, the joystick menu system works better for me than Sony’s touchscreen technology as it’s a easier to navigate the menus. All in all, very pleased and would recommend highly. I also bought DVK-203 Accessory Kit (Extended Life Battery, Carry Case & Tape) which helped get things going too. The camera doesn’t come with a firewire cable so I ordered one too…

I got this product in the box new complete with AV cables,charger etc. This product is amazing and its for an exetremely low price!! I highly Recommend Sony they make amazing products including this one. When i discovered that it can do loads of good special effects I Was so Amazed. It is so lightweight you would not belive it!! I also Recommend these Sony accessories :- Tripod,LCD Cleaning kit,lenses,sports pack etc. So If You Need A Camera Recorder Get This One!!

Amazon say it has USB connection. (Still, now, 3 months after I bought mine) It does not, the 53 and 54 do. it is not just the cable that is lacking as I thought at first - there is no connector socket for USB on the camera. This was the only reason I bought this model!

I got this camera the other day and sent it back. Don’t get me wrong, it’s really good, but I was after a Full-HD camcorder (1920×1080), not 1440×1080. If you’re not bothered about the resolution, then this camera is for you. Great image and sound quality with lots of functions.

If you can afford this camera then please buy it. I just received this as a very generous birthday present and I must say im in awe! the quality when hooked up to a HD tv is absolutely incredible. I cant speak about whether it is the best, or whether others work better on 1080p or whatever. All i can say is that whether its indoors or outdoors, rain or shine, day or night (it has night vision) this camera produces ridiculously good results. It is easy to hook up to your telly or pc through a stand that comes with it. One-touch dvd burning (although it says to put the dvds into blu ray players, not into dvd players. I guess when blu ray becomes more widespread you’ll be able to burn straight onto blu ray discs)…this is one thing i havent tried yet since i dont have dvd-rw discs at home at the moment. I want to burn it on to a dvd and put it on my ps3 to see the quality. 40gb harddrive is a treat, batter life is good as is the camera. But for me its the size that makes it so incredible. Its a compact, light machine that delivers incredible results. Buy in confidence, since i do not bother writing reviews unless i am really impressed or disgusted by a product.when it comes to digital cameras i prefer canon, but with this you cannot go wrong. amazing!

i was looking to buy a new sony camcorder and saw this little thing with an HD embossed on its tiny little body. it’s expensive but wow! the pictures were stunning! shots perfectly on a 6.1 megapixel format. High definition, crystal clear videos with a 5.1 surround sound! that is truly amazing! but please, think twice before buying this one if you don’t have an HD ready plasma or LCD as it might disappoint you during playback on a tele which is not HD ready because this is what your paying for, the High Definition. hope you will enjoy yours like i do.
