Canon has added to its Digital IXUS line with the 950 IS, an ultra-compact and stylish digital camera. It has a built-in 8-megapixel CCD sensor, and combines an optical image stabiliser with a DIGIC III image processor to improve exposure, colours and visual rendering. You?ll be able to monitor all your shots thanks to the 2.5? LCD screen and focus on a particular object or face, for example. This Canon camera includes a face-detection mode for harmonious photos with stamped-out shadows and more homogenous lighting. The IXUS 950 IS has an ISO sensitivity of up to 1600 that adapts to any exposure conditions. In addition, this camera includes Canon’s exclusive ?My colours? mode, an anti-red-eye mode and several scene modes such as saturated, neutral, softened, and of course, sepia and black & white. Capable of recording short video sequences, the IXUS 950 IS will win over young photo enthusiasts who are keen on entertainment!
Customer Review: Still Not Sure
Ive had the 950is for a while now and i’m still not sure about it. No doubting the sexiness of it and a plethora of features, but so far all of the photos ive taken have looked so “soft”, even on superfine setting. With all of the rave reviews on here i’m left wondering whether i’ve got a duff one. I’m having to sharpen every single photo using editing software to get anything like the same clarity i got from my old 4mp Samsung. I’m really wanting to like this camera as it’s a beautiful piece of kit and was expensive, but so far i’m left feeling a bit disappointed. Like i said, maybe i’ve got a dud.
Customer Review: Great compact camera from Canon
I always trust the products from Canon. I bought this camera to replace my 400D for traveling. It’s superb in terms of build-in quality and image quality, even thought the price maybe a little higher compared to other products, but it’s really worth it. So far I’m quite happy with this camera, hopefully I can make good use of it later. Anyway, if you want a compact camera, I highly recommend this one.
