Customer Review: You get what you pay for…
I confess that I hadn’t really done my homework on this camera. I’d recently lost a well-loved Canon PowerShot A85 on holiday in Italy, and needed a point-and-shoot/video for the occasions when I don’t want to take the DSLR out with me. The price is definitely attractive but one session out on a spring day had me convinced that I had bought the wrong product. Pictures taken against the sun, both auto and in different modes, looked dark and over-compensated. Backlit sunny vistas reminded me of 1970s Kodak Instamatic results and the video results were unacceptable. Back to the Canon PowerShot range for me…

Customer Review: Nikon SK-7 Flash Bracket
Mounting a Nikon flashgun above the camera using the accessory shoe is convienient but gives very poor modelling, whereas mounting it slightly to the side, and even better, slightly above the lens with the SK-7, gives much better modelling. The SK-7 is a handy little gadget for supporting either the SU-4 unit (for remote control), the SC-17 unit (for film cameras) or a SC-28/SC-29 unit (for digital cameras) AND AN APPROPIATE FLASHGUN, to the side of the camera. Every kit bag should have one!
