SONY HDMI High-Definition Multimedia Interface

October 23rd, 2007

This is a high-bandwidth video connection that carries digitized RGB picture information and can support copy-protection methods. The HDMI specification allows for the presentation device and display device to agree on an optimal picture size and resolution to ensure the highest quality picture automatically. The multi-pin HDMI interface transfers uncompressed digital video with copy protection and multichannel audio. Using an adapter, HDMI is backward-compatible with most current DVI connections.

And with HDMI your BRAVIA LCD TV can be linked to other future HD sources, such as Blu-Ray players, next generation games consoles and HD camcorders

Customer Review: How are you going to sell this item
How are you going to sell this item if theres no details about it. Im looking for a descent sized T.V that’s 60hz or more so i can use my xbox 360 on it because some of the games require 60hz T.V. But nooooo! just write down the weight of the product and everything will be fine

Sony KDL-40X3500 - 40” Widescreen Bravia 1080P Full HD LCD TV - With Freeview
Amazon Price: ?1,830.00
Customer Review: Sony KDL-40X3500
Fantastic TV, its the best set Sony have produced yet, however, in their wisdom, Sony have decided to fit this set with two cooling fans which you can clearly hear when the set is on. I would strongly recommend visiting a Sony Centre or any other electrical shop where you can see/listen to the set while it is switched on to see if you can live with the noise coming from these fans, it really does let the set down.

Sony Bravia KDL32V2500 TV LCD PLASMA Wall Mount Bracket
This is a great bracket for your TV LCD PLASMA TV. It’s HEAVY DUTY, Easy to install and Looks Great! Solid steel construction and adjustable for the best viewing angle.
Customer Review: OK but TV is a long way out from the wall
Reasonable bracket for the price but your set will end up a long way out from the wall. The bracket itself is approx 10cm deep, add the depth of the TV and your screen will be 20cm or so from the wall. The tilt mechanism is fine in theory but in practise I’ve never used it. I should have bought a slimline bracket instead.
Customer Review: Excellent wall mount
Overall I would rate this wall mount 4 stars. I was impressed with the general quality and price; comparative wall mounts costing in excess of ?100+. The instructions were easy to follow, the installation and setup being intuitive. The only criticism I would have is the rawl plugs supplied. The instructions advise using a 10mm drill piece to place the plugs; I however found this too large and an 8mm bit too small. Easily fixed with either purchasing higher quality plugs from the local hardware store or a simple piece of card around the plug to pad it out. Apart from that the mount is superb, not a problem in mounting my Sony 32″ and has sufficient room for cabling, HDMI, SCART and Ariel, very impressed.

BRAVIA Engine Picture Enhancement
Amazon Price: ?369.99

Customer Review: Superb
I purchased this television to replace my old crt television in my bedroom, as well as buying it for the new consoles. I have to say I was not disappointed by this television at all, the picture quality is superb, the menus are simple to use and the freeview guide system is better than a lot of others. As for vouching on its lifespan, i’ve only owned this from august so its too early to say, I will however mention that I find that sony products are built to last.
Customer Review: Small but perfectly formed
The Sony KDL20S2030 is proof of the philosophy that you get what you pay for - you can buy a 20″ LCD TV for half the price of this one. However, both the visual and audio quality of this set puts it at the top of the pile. The picture is vibrant, sharp and very lifelike with an almost startling intensity that is missing in most other sets of this size and larger. Also, the sound quality belies the size of the set in that it is extremely clear and has significant presence to it. Additionally, the range of settings and connections including HDMI is very wide indeed. Initial setup is very easy too being largely automatic. Only two slight “nit picks” from someone who is hard to please when it comes to gadgets - the remote control is silver as opposed to black (I bought the black version of this TV) and its scale is disproportionately large given the size and likely placement of this set - to me this is lazy on the part of Sony in such an expensive product. I think they “borrowed” a remote from a larger set. Overall, though, this is a high quality product, that is well finished with matt surfaces to the cabinet and screen (unlike the distracting shiny “piano black” of some rival manufacturers sets), high quality output and logical controls. In summary, unreservedly recommended.
