October 31st, 2007

Which use should I select if I use my vehicle for business purposes?
It is important that you select the correct level of cover for what you are using your vehicle for:
Social, Domestic and Pleasure (SD&P) - this excludes use of travelling to and from work or other personal business use.
Social, Domestic, Pleasure and Commuting (SDP&C) - this includes travel to and from work by any named driver on the policy.
SDP&C including Personal Business use for Policyholder - as above but this also includes cover for the personal business use of the policyholder in person.
SDP&C including Personal Business use for Policyholder & Spouse - as above but, if applicable, this also includes cover for the personal business use of the policyholder and spouse in person.
If you require business use for any other driver or you use the vehicle for commercial travelling,
Please note that we are unable to offer a quotation on-line or over the phone if your vehicle is used for courier work or fast food delivery, hire and reward including use as a taxi, Motor trade, or Driving Tuition.

If you know the registration number of your vehicle, enter this and click on “Get Vehicle”. We will find the vehicle details for you and ask you to confirm these are correct. If the incorrect vehicle details are shown, please click “no” and proceed to manually select the correct vehicle.
If you have not previously entered a registration number during your quotation you must enter it on the Summary page when buying your policy.

Stop painting out the warts, insurers told

Which employment status should I select?
When identifying your occupation we first ask “What is your employment status”? The list of adjacent occupations and employer business types are then customised according to your employment status. For example, selecting an employment status of “Household Duties” will customise the occupation list to show only the applicable “Housewife” and “Househusband” entries and will default employers business type to “Not in employment” making your occupation selection easier. Similarly, selecting an employment status of “Full time Education” will show only those occupation entries relating to student activities where you are “Not in employment”.
I cannot find an exact match for my occupation or employer’s business?
If you cannot find an exact match, please select the description that most closely matches the occupation or business. If you still cannot find a match, please call us on 0800 99 1066 and we will help you.
