Customer Review: Fun for toddler
I bought these for my two year old who is a recent In The Night Garden fan. They are fantastic. Admittedly the box arrived a bit worse for wear (I am in Australia) but it still holds the books when it needs to. My daughter carries the books everywhere. Stops, sits down to read them, waves them around in one hand, lines them up to count to 6 or turns them over to complete the puzzle on the back. For a few dollars she has had hours of fun already. Highly recommend!
Customer Review: Nice while they lasted
These books were very popular with my one year old who loves all things night garden. So much so that after a few months of reading they have literally fallen apart. Also each book is very short and I think you get more value from some of the other pocket library collections. Nice stories for littles ones but not sure about their value to language development; ‘Runny grobbles…..?’

Customer Review: Geoff was an Amazing Man!
This collecion is a must have for all people that loves gardens. I’m in Australia and the climate is different from England but the series is so packed of precious knowledge that I’m finding myself watching the DVD’s over and over again. I’m an horticulturist but still find invaluable knowledge and I find it even more precious because is coming from the heart. Geoff was a very nice and enthusiastic person, with great love for gardening; and you can feel this watching and hearing him. I also love the pace of the series, not rushing like many modern programs that are a very fast pace. Geoff takes time to explain things in simple english and showing heaps of examples, historical connections, interviews and beautiful gardens of both pro and amateurs. This is one of the best DVD’s I ever bought, a real pearl! But if you like modern, cold, garden designs than this series is not for you.

Geoff Hamilton was THE architypal gardener. His easy-natured approach and love of traditional gardening methods have stood the test of time, and always will do. The 3 dvd’s are beautifully filmed, wonderfully atmospheric and thoroughly informative. Geoff creates some stunning gardens and, along the way, meets several other gardeners (I must mention old George in “Cottage Gardens” - a hero of mine) and this adds to the flavour of the series, and should inspire anyone pick up a fork and get cracking. Buy it - it’s a wonderful way to spend an evening in front of the telly.

Customer Review: Works well enough
I have a kerbside flower bed here in Cape Town, South Africa which dogs used to urinate and defecate on as they were being walked by their owners. This was not good for the flowers or those tending them. It was really amusing to see how this unit worked: after installation the dogs’ owners could be seen walking on the opposite side of the street from mine, led there by their dogs who now wanted to avoid my flower bed. It is a little awkward to get at when you need to replace batteries. I may install a mains power supply at some point. Here the weather can be blazing sun in summer and oppressively wet in winter. This unit survives both extremes.
Customer Review: Effective - but requires external power source.
The battery compartment is difficult too get to with you having to remove eight screws. There is a 12v external power inlet which has a cover on it which you have to snap off-and-on for access (I think one of the other reviewers has mistaken that as the control knob). The controls are under a flap on the left hand side. The unit can be off, on-constant or on-sensor with three different frequency settings. The device does work but really requires an external power source as otherwise it eats batteries.

Utterly beautiful book, filled with stunning photos and mouth watering recipes. Gives recommendations for varieties of each fruit/vegetable, particularly interesting if you grow your own. Arranged by month, and then into each fruit/vegetable. Recipes include Treviso Lasagne Penne with Preserved Lemon and Avocado Rosemary and Anchocy Encrusted Lamb Fillet of Beef with Rocket Baby Spinach, Pancetta and Roasted Almond Salad Asparagus Pasta with Lemon Mint and Pea Tip Risotto Elderflower Fritters French Apricot Jam Cherry Clafoutis All the recipes I’ve tried have worked perfectly. I love using this book for cooking and I love browsing through it - would make a greatly appreciated book for someone you care about!
Customer Review: extra veg inspiration
As a compulsive cook book buyer/collector/hoarder this was too good to miss, based on previous reviews I went ahead and bought this book and was not at all disappointed. Some recipes are familiar and therefore comforting and others provide new ideas and inspiration, so much so I resorted to pilfering handfuls of lemon verbena leaves from my mother’s shrub in order to try out the Verveine Sorbet recipe to much success. This is a ‘must have’ cook book, the recipes are beautifully laid out and very clear, it is not a book for the complete beginner or unadventurous cook. If you simply enjoy food, cooking and browsing through recipes then this book is for you. The photographs and colourful design enhance this pleasurable experience and is excellent value for money as well as making a gorgeous present for a foodie.

Customer Review: An absolute joy.
After 26 years, I still think this is one of the best children’s television series ever made. The often touching story of a young orphan girl waking up to the simple beauty of the world around her, and finding lasting friendship along the way, perfectly captures the spirit of magic and discovery those more sensitive individuals among us associate with childhood. For those reared on the excellent 1993 film version, this original BBC series is still well worth watching, as it sticks more closely to the book and has a charming lead performance from Sarah Hollis Andrews that is every bit as delightful as Kate Maberly’s, plus sympathetic performances from the supporting cast. My only gripe is directed at the BBC, for their continual inability to release even classic programmes like this in their original format. Seven 25-30 minute episodes condensed into a single feature-length block of 107 minutes? It’s disappointing the quantity of material they’ve arbitrarily excised. That aside, if you’re in any way the sort to be bitten by nostalgia, and you remember this from way back, buy it now! Excellent viewing!!

The Goodies were in most people eye’s a kids version of Monty Python - (including John Cleese)- zany, groovy! wacked out silliness! And bloody funny! Grab these discs while you can- (know this is the LWT series) but the BBC in their wisdom left the original films to literally rot in the archives and not many episodes survive. Even the bbc dvd releases are rumoured to have been put together after they sought out collectors and remastered old videoed episodes for their release as they didn’t have the originals. So unless they do this to the other ‘old video copies’ doing the rounds on P2P shares- it’s going to be hard to see this classic comedy in it’s entirety on dvd unless you show an interest and buy the dvd’s. Bring back those memories-

This is the only official complete series of the ‘GOODIES’,and contains the usual mixed bag of out-and-out gems, with one or two reheated themes……..overall, the standard is high enough to warrant purchase; picture/sound quality is fine, gag-quota is high, with many elaborate visual stunts of which this team is celebrated. One episode: ‘HOLIDAY’ –is studio-only, which affords textured interplay within the team. Apparantly, this series of 7 25-min shows reportedly cost as much as the entire BBC output of 70 shows…..GO FIGURE! VISUALLY impressive as ever, with only token ITV ‘forced laughter’ from the studio audience. This show translates to the commercial channel far better than other COMEDY exports. —-FINE.

Customer Review: Fantastic Concert - brought to life with Blu-Ray
Wow, where do I start. I initially bought the normal DVD version of this concert and was impressed with it. The concert itself is amazing and the whole show is stunning and action packed from start to finish. I got a blu-ray enabled laptop with true HiDef screen so thought I would buy the Blu-Ray version of the concert. Boy, am I glad I did!! The quality is absolutely amazing. The sound is perfect and there is such a massive difference in the visual quality. If you have the original DVD, a Blu-Ray player and HiDef TV and like JT, I URGE you to get this disk. You will NOT be dissappointed, I promise you that.
Customer Review: Amazing, entertaining show!
After seeing this show live in Birmingham I think this Blu-Ray does a superb job of recreating the feel and vibe from the live show. The concert is varied and well paced, with a good song selection. I would say its longer than your average pop concert too. I particularly like the extended “mixes” that they do on a few of the songs. Thankfully these extended songs are not boring or self indulgent, they really are cool and I find myself skipping back to them because they are that good. On this Blu-Ray version I’m tempted to say its the best show off disc yet. The picture and sound are almost flawless. It looks VERY sharp. Better than almost any other Blu-Ray I’ve ever seen. My one negative comment would be that there are multiple cameras used to cover this concert and in my opinion, whilst all appear HD the main central camera gives you an even crisper brighter shot than the wider angle, edge of the stage cameras. Still 95% perfect though on the image. Sound is well placed, no much stereo separation but again, very high production costs throughout.

Customer Review: There are no better books for soup lovers
I’ve had this book (the older edition) for almost 10 years now and I’m still using it. The recipes always work perfectly, the short little stories over each recipe are fun to read and I’ve never made any soup from this or the other two books without people asking for second, third and in one case even fourth helpings (and most of the time the soup was supposed to be the starter!). Normally, I make at least double the quantities because of that. Can you say more to show just how yummy the recipes are? This definitely is a book I couln’t live without. Everybody should have it!

I absolutly love this soup cookbook. Every soup I have made (about half of all in book) turn out fab and there are several that I have made over and over. Definatly one I would recomend to everyone. I have now also purchased the soup & beyond cookbook and made my first soup from that the other day…Parsnip, leek & Lemon. It was superb. One of the best cookbooks I have ever owned.
